Actually, I have been through too much to not say anything. if it came down to revealing truth or keeping up the veil of darkness, I guess I should go for truth. Does anyone see anything inherently wrong with a scene that sacrifices it's players, then "makes up" for it by post-mortem veneration? Jimi, Janis, The Big Bopper, Patsy Cline, Bob Marley.........
And again, who is next? I remember someone mentioning all those name onstage at Mountain Jam.

I'm not sure if I can judge it, but I can question it, and question why it has come to my attention, because Lord knows I am struggling as they run circles around me, dangling golden carrots in the sky that I can never reach, while lesser life forms are appropriated lives of ease and are sent my way to drive me insane. i truly have been drugged against my will, been set-up in car crashes, and have been caught up in a ridiculous plan that doesn't seem to be working as intended. I swear, I am in a never-ending movie. The world went green all around me, foreheads show the mark, but I am still standing in the eye of the storm. Even store windows are designed to keep my head in their fantasy. Sometimes I wonder if I should just submit, but if I do in moments, I still feel like I am running on a treadmill. You are all probably more interested in the next can of beer, but I think someone should think on it besides me.

I just bought a Marie Callenders Razzleberry pie because it was onsale at Publix, and it was freakin' awesome, and it was made in America.

This from her website:

Razzleberry
Raspberries and blackberries baked together, with a hint of apples.

Okay, I'll play along. What "scene" are those you mention a part of? Music? You mention names of which the most recent death is nearly 30 years old and ask who is next? Well thousands and thousands of musicians have died since the most recent one on your list so who was next took place sometime back in 1981 after Bob passed.

As for the rest of it, I highly suggest you ingest large quantities of LSD, it should have bring you great clarity and wisdom.

Life is not a compromise
Though it often turns to this
Unintended suicide
As if our fate's sealed with a kiss

We're all taught to rise above
Can't let ourselves be hurt by love
So tell me what I have to lose
I'm ready to feel the new world blues

Dreams are only of a new world
Instead of making this one right
But run away is not the answer
Still we all want to take flight

Never knowing what we seek
We think our pain is so unique

So tell me what I have to lose
Ready to feel these new world blues

Heroes are not to cry
So hold your head up high
The future is ours to see
So come on and rescue me

So tell me what I have to lose.
I'm ready to feel these new world blues

So tell me what I have to lose
I'm ready to feel these new world blues

Life is not a compromise

John Prine, Hello In There

We had an apartment in the city,
Me and Loretta liked living there.
Well, it'd been years since the kids had grown,
A life of their own left us alone.
John and Linda live in Omaha,
And Joe is somewhere on the road.
We lost Davy in the Korean war,
And I still don't know what for, don't matter anymore.

Ya' know that old trees just grow stronger,
And old rivers grow wilder ev'ry day.
Old people just grow lonesome
Waiting for someone to say, "Hello in there, hello."

Me and Loretta, we don't talk much more,
She sits and stares through the back door screen.
And all the news just repeats itself
Like some forgotten dream that we've both seen.
Someday I'll go and call up Rudy,
We worked together at the factory.
But what could I say if asks "What's new?"
"Nothing, what's with you? Nothing much to do."

So if you're walking down the street sometime
And spot some hollow ancient eyes,
Please don't just pass 'em by and stare
As if you didn't care, say, "Hello in there, hello."

You gotta wash that man right out of your head. :-)
