Well, first the negative side. Be careful with the packaging. The Extras CD/DVD are in a strange holder which might lead to scratching. I am making backups of all 13 discs for my own personal private archival uses

Now, the CDs sound aswesome. For Trespass I was pleased with Stagnation. I love that track and it and the others get a lot of cleanup and space. For the DVD, they have the 5.1 audio tracks and a band interview running about 40 minutes. Ant is included, and he looks like the decision not to be a hard core rock and roller left him looking much younger than 60. Good discussion.

For Nursery Cryme, I was stymied by a disc error which initially made the CD uncopyable but I ended up using Nero 8 on my laptop. Musical Box is just fantastic. Hogweed kicks in with some soft to not soft level. The guitar is right in your face. Gabriel's flute and Banks' B-3 sounds very good. Lots of space, the guitars are clean, you can hear more of Collins on backing vocals. Haven't seen the DVD yet, but has only the band interview as an extra.

Foxtrot copied but not yet examined. However the DVD extras include Band interview, Brussels 1972 and Rome 1972. I can't wait for Supper

Selling England by the Pound. WOW.....had to catch it and am very impressed. First, I would recommend the Band interview on the DVD. Hackett looks fantastic, younger than his years. The stories are great on how they developed the various songs. By the way, Firth of Forth was orginally three different Banks tunes. I never timed it but the Hacket solo on that track reaches nearly four minutes, so they claim.

Am still copying the various CDs et al...

Anyone in the UK get the SACD/PAL version? Am curious as to the sound.

Now, if they actually get around to a live boxset as is rumored....and for our own Capt Skipper.....they are apparently working on a Mama tour DVD release as well.

Cheers

Carlos "Got them in before Friday.....as I became a Watcher of the Mailbox" Rivera

Sounds egggzellent!

As for the Mama tour DVD, bring it on. They had a very good VHS version of that out years ago. Wonderful "Home by the Sea" and old Genesis medley but a terrifying medley of rock covers at the end. Genesis playing the Stones' "Satisfaction"? Please god no!

Great review Carolos. I agree and have watched listened to even more. And I love it.

Plus Jim, They don't really cover "Satisfaction", they just run through a bunch of snippets of classic songs like changing a radio station. It's really not that big of a deal.

Finally, Supper's Ready.

The DVD extras include a couple of shows and a band interview. Kinda of wished for more background on SR...but still interesting.

As to Foxtrot.....Watcher sounds great. Get em out by Friday has that flute line from the mellotron which always tricked me

I never really listened to Rutherford's cello at the beginnng of Supper, and wow, the background voices are bright and distinct. Overall a wonderful job of remixing.

Lonomon,

Nope, none of the releases from 1983-1998, and only a couple from 1976-1982. I was never found of ATTWT, or most of ABACAB or Genesis. As the band moved to superduper stardom I was less happy and happy. I am however hoping the Live Boxset may have DVD extras, especially for Seconds Out and Three Sides Live.

I heard a Live boxset was dependent on sales of the
studio boxsets.

So we'll see, but I would really want to see that ...
