The Faces Plotting Reunion?

Billboard.com has reported that The Faces may be the next band to reunite, after 30 years out of the studio and away from the road. The legendary UK band, featuring Rod Stewart, Ian McLagan, Kenney Jones, and longtime Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood, could meet up as early as next week for rehearsals, with a possible return to the stage in 2009.

The site reports that Stewart said that he, Wood, McLagan and Jones would be accompanied by Stewart's touring bassist (stepping in for the late Ronnie Laine) for a practice session on Monday (Nov. 17) and may hit the road next year.

A source did tell Billboard "nothing is definite yet," and so far the news has not been confirmed. As with many reunion rumors as of late, an official word should follow soon now that the possibility has been raised.

I would be up for that, but is Stewart's voice up to the task?

Even more than Rod's voice, I don't know if Woodie is up to the task. He was a pretty great meat n potatoes type of rock player back in the Faces heyday. But having heard him with The Stones over the years, his playing has deteriorated greatly to my ears.

The question is: Can they play together SOBER? This was possibly the drunkest band of all time...the only band to actually have a BAR and bartender on stage during shows.

Amazing any of 'em have livers left.

So yesterday you hated the Black Crowes and Today the Faces. You must really hate the Rolling Stones too. What do you like?

Every great band or singer has some **** ty moments. Jimmy Page played with Puff Daddy. The ABB had a keytar.
I say, ignore "Do Ya Think I'm Sexy" and put on some of Rod with The Faces or with Jeff Beck or even his first 3 solo albums. You will diggit.

THis reunion might be the revitalization Woodie and Rod need! I would love to catch a Faces reunion because I feel that it will be quite celebratory as the Faces was one of rock's great good time bands. Ev'rybody on stage and in the audience will be having a great time and enjoying the reunion festivities.

Sober? The faces sober? Ron Wood sober? Will his 15 year old Soviet mistress or wife of 20+ years allow this? Unless someone's waved a magic wand, I don't think you'll se Woody playing sober! Is sobriety in their contract for this reunion?

For what it's worth - I think the do-ya-think I'm sexy days marked the end of Rod Stewart's serious rock and roll career. At least, for me it did. Last time I checked, he'd re-invented himself as Tony Bennet. If you dig it, I'm glad it's there for ya!

"Do You think I'm Sexy" is not a Faces tune, so why is that part of this thread?
