Just a scant four years ago, I responded to a forum post asking if anyone if the Augusta, GA. area wanted to jam. I of course said "YES" and it has been four years to the day that I met BigDaveOnBass

Since then we have done many, many things together and I have enjoyed every minute of it...

Thanks for the miles either driving or riding and the conversations

To my dear friend, my hat is off to you and I cherish our friendship....

Hope this ain't too mushy....just history, or in our case "ourstory"....

Signed...Roaddawg

I thought about y'all so much this summer. I lost my job in June and went on an extended road trip with my dogs to GA and the Carolinas for about a month. We stayed with family, friends and in hotels. Everytime I told them they were my "road dawgs," I thought of the two of you.

I know that sounds crazy, but just wanted you to know you were in my thoughts, and the two of you are phenomenal, separately and as a pair!

I've said it before, and I will say it again: Music brings people together! I have forged many friendships just within the last ten years because of my shared love for music with others.

Thanks for sharing your brotherhood story! How lucky you both are to have the other!

Two of the absolutely finest individuals that I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. When these two are around, you know you're in for a great time!

Dude....has it been four years already? Wow, the time is flyin' by.

It doesn't seem like it's been that long. I put a post in the Banding Together thread looking for people in the Augusta area to jam with. You responded. We made arrangements to meet at Walt's for our first jam. I remember telling you during a break in the jam, "After talking to you several times on the phone, I had no idea you were black." To which you responded, "Is that a problem?" To which I responded, "Hell no!" The rest, as they say, is history.

We've made many trips to ABB concerts, Wanee festivals, Jam For Duanes, dTb shows, Tinsley Ellis shows, etc. I couldn't ask for better traveling company. It's always better when you can enjoy these shows with like minded folks, people who "get" the music. Our most memorable journey, I would have to say, was Beacon 2007. The Hayseed Mafia was born on that trip.

It's been a pleasure, John. Thanks for everything. I'm looking forward to the next adventure. (By the way, I still need to settle up on the room fees for this last JFD. I haven't forgotten.)

OK, someone hand me a tissue...........and some ear plugs.

As I have come to be known as the third leg of the GA/Carolina Roaddawgs, I can't say enough good things about these two guys. They have really been great friends, and nothing but the most fun I have had in a long time. Kinda strange how you end up meeting certain people, but Dave, John, and I had so many connections, but had never met until about a year ago.

Thanks for everything fella's! Now somebody stop all this mushy stuff!

I met Bluedad and Big Dave on Bass at Beacon '07. It was as if I had known them for years...they are two of the greatest guys in the world. It just shows us how the music unites us in a special way. I do hope Beacon '09 brings us all together again.

Great pic of two great guys. Met John last NYE, I had seen him all over the place at shows, so I just walked up and introduced myself in the lobby at the Fox. That was also when Bill told me I needed to post and visit ths site more. I finally met BDOB in Atlanta this year, and what a pleasure it was to be around these gentlemen that weekend.

Awaiting comment on the "gentlemen" remark.
