As many of you know Barry Trotter, Trot, was recently diagnosed with small cell lung cancer and is currently undergoing chemotherapy and radiation. Unfortunately Barry's benefits were recently terminated (that is just not right) and he now has no insurance and is unable to work due to his illness. We are planning two benefits in the Atlanta area to raise funds to help with some of the medical expenses that will hit both Barry and his wife, Terry Reeves, Miss Terry. Mike Nunn who runs the Second Wind Cancer Retreat and Bob Fortin, Miss Terry's co-worker, will be working to put these benfits together along with several other people who worked on the benefit for the Second Wind Retreat. We would like to have silent auctions at both these events so if you have anything that you can contribute just let me know and I will make sure we will include these items.
Please mark these dates on your calendar:

Jam for Barry - Saturday Dec 6, 2008 - Zuffy's Place
Blues for Barry - Friday Jan 30, 2009 - Darwins, Marietta GA

Confirmed artists for the Jam for Barry so far are:
John & Katie Marsh of Deep Blue Sun
The Fly Brothers (Miss Terry's son's band)
Lingo (The young band we met at Bill's Memorial gathering)
also........several musicians have conflicting shows scheduled for Zuffy's and other Atlanta venues around the same dates will be stopping by to donate thier talent but we are unable to mention their names in advance to avoid interfering with the promotion of their other shows.

Blues for Barry - Friday January 30, 2009 - Darwin's Blues Club Marietta, GA
Artists for the Blues for Barry so far are:
Big Chief
Tommy Crain & the Crosstown Allstars

Please keep the prayers and good vibes going for Barry's recovery from this dreadful disease.

So sorry about Barry's cancer. How awful. And no insurance. I will try to make one of the shows. Mitzi, can you post the fund info here? I understand there is a PayPal link. Thanks.

Sending you prayers and love, Barry and Terry.

Unfortunately, I can't post html code here on the AG. But I did post the link at Big Daddy's.

For those that wish to use PayPal send funds to email terry1958@comcast.net
That'll get it done! Bless y'all for wanting to help!

Thanks for everybody's support and prayers. Again if you have anything to contribute to Silent auction, let me know, either PM me or or reply to this thread. We got a signed guitar coming, a picture of Gregg Allman, an Eric Clapton poster and other stuff from Music Matters Entertainment. Thanks everybody.

Naa-aa--aa-aa-aa-aaahhh! I think it's time to stop teasing Bluedad. It's just wrong to make fun of someone who has a $500.00 a day Woolite habit.

My thoughts and prayers to Miss Terry and her husband. Funny how insurace companies drop you before all the bills really start to hit. Thank God for friends and family who are there to support with hugs, kisses, prayers and benefits. Big warm fuzzy hugs and kisses to Miss Terry and her husband.

Let me see what I can do to get some more items for the benefit. My music buddies are very generous up here, and I will try to get you some signed items which I will ship to you. I have organized quite a few benefits in the past here. Make sure you call the PR departments from your pro sports teams. They are usually very generous. Feel free to PM me. Kevin

Barb, thanks so much for your hard work and dedication! And thanks to Mulehead for the ideas, and everyone for their support. The first benefit poster is below (beautiful work by Terrence Bradley of Coricidin Blues Designs). Barb will be reporting back on the non-profit after our meeting on Wed. Thank you!! You've got huge hearts and always a helping hand for anyone in the family!

My love for this family is unmeasureable. I remember when we were on the road and Terry got a call from a guy telling us he would book us at an Atlanta hocky game in the big arena. It was Barry. We have joked about that to this day. My prayers and thoughts are with Barry and Terry, I love them both very dearly. May you get well soon my brother.

Our friend from Athens, Steve, will be donating a Peavy hollow body electric guitar that will be signed by various artists. Please let all your guitar lover friends know. I will be donating a large poster of Eric Clapton and an unopened Derek Trucks Band Songlines DVD. I'm hoping to get some dinners, hotel stays etc from local businesses.

Let me know if you have anything you would to donate for the benefits for Barry.

Regarding auction for Barry. Are you looking for music related items only?
Because I don't have much in that area. But I do have some other nice
things I would be willing to donate. Thanks
