That's an easy one. WARREN all the way. Taking nothing away from young Mr Trucks, Warren Haynes is a legend and that's a fact.

If I drank beer... it would be with Dickey... lots of good questions to ask him about his playing with Duane and the ABB at that time in his life, etc...

I realize the question was Warren or Derek... but then again I don't drink beer....

Warren. The guy is a veritable font of musical knowledge and I bet he could be a fascinating conversationalist.

Dickey's a mean so'n'so sober let alone the idea of drinking with him.

All the DTB except Rico went down to Blackstone with us after the 2004 JFD show....some of us were across the street at another tavern, saw them walking down the street. Pretty surreal. Stayed for a couple hours, had a few. Just regular guys. Kofi sat in with Highly Kind, on keys.

I'd rather have a cup of coffee with Gregg. I don't drink beer. If I did I'd have o say Warren would be more interesting.

Being a guitar player, I always pictured this question in a different light..

Who would you rather have a beer and play guitar with ?

Dr. Pepper or Mountain Dew, I've always dreamed of sittin' down with a couple of Martins or Gibsons and having the chance to throw down some slide while Gregg played and sang.

I know, I know, no Warren or Derek and no beers, but it's my dream...

I like beer. I would say Derek but, obviously, either scenario would be a dream come true...especially if it involved both of us holding guitars.

Actually Dickey was quite nice when we were on his bus this summer.

I thanked him for a great show that my kids thoroughly enjoyed, and he said he was glad to hear that.

I was thinking that I'd enjoy a long talk with Warren about various people he's played with over the years, then I realized that Derek might have a few stories to tell too. I don't read as much about the band as some, but my impression when Derek first joined was that he was somewhat overwhelmed and since then he's come to clearly feel he not only belongs, but is a huge part of what the band is about. I'd be interested to hear how that evolution happened, if someone took him under their wing, encouraged/mentored him or if it just happened on its own.
