I agree with a number, if not all, the things you don't believe in....and maybe Obama will turn out to be the 'antichrist' as everyone is trying to portray, but as far as I'm concerned, this country set out on the road to hell when Bush was elected and I'm willing to trust Obama can turn us around. I'm darn certain McCain can't.

Just curious, what has Obama done that leads you to believe he is the "man"? He is the the chosen one and when he asks you to make this HUGE sacrifice that is coming, maybe you will rethink your position. I will not follow blindly. Give me one good reason to vote for the man. Not just the fact that you don't like Bush. What gives you so much hope that he can get the job done?

I have given my reasons repeatedly throughout this election process...but since you asked for one, I'll give you one. I like his ideas for the country and he's shown an abillity to appeal to peoplel's inner strengths to get things done.

As for having to make a HUGE sacrifice....I love this country, I love what she stands for and there are people in different parts of the world making more sacrifices today for her than I'll ever be called upon to make. It's not going to change my way of thinking at all.

I respect your strong belief in Obama and I hope you are right. I am just not sold on the blind faith that so many seem to have in this man. I do hope he wins though, it is what is best for this country on Tuesday night.

I didn't come to my decision easily. I supported Hillary and would have supported Chuck Hagel....If McCain had chosen Hagel or even Romney as is VP running mate I can honestly say I'd probably still be a little undecided. So, I've been forced to pay attention to what the candiates are saying, how they're saying it and to look at the people running the campaigns. McCain has the same people that put Bush into office. It's a strike against him right there. His erratic behavior in contrast to Obama's calm is another factor in my decision.

Only history will decide if Obama is the right choice, but watching McCain right now, the way he's sold out his principles, the decisions he's made tells me McCain is the wrong choice for me in this election. I didn't drink the kool aid....and I haven't swallowed all the b.s. in this election either.

BA,

I wasn't referring to you as far as the kool-aid drinkers go. It just seems with Obama, there are alot of Kool-Aid drinkers out there and would follow this guy straight off of a cliff. McCain has been in the tank for along time now, he isn't trying to win. More likely he is trying to lose. Palin? Really? Just think if he had picked Romney, would you be so inclined to vote for Obama then?

Even fauxnews is in the tank for Obama now. He is the chosen one and this election was really over almost a year ago. I fully expect a landslide win for Obama and it wouldn't surprise me if it was bigger than Reagans mandate. They want America to be "all in" for Obama, and that is what they are going to get. Just like Biden, mark my words, Obama is going to ask America to do something that we never thought we were going to have to do.

I'm interested if you think it would be different under McCain - would he be asking us to do the same thing?

Being the Al Jourgensen fan that I am, I have to admit that everytime I see a post about the New World Order, N.W.O. by Ministry starts playing in my head.

Hey! I get to post a youtube link for jpb! Imagine that!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PlcvJjRvT7c

all the locals hide their tears of regret
open fire cause I love you to death
sky high, with a heartache of stone
you'll never see me cause i'm always alone

how to love without a trace of dissent
i'll buy the torture cause you pay for the rent
tied high with a broken command
you're all alone to the promised land

i'm in love with this malicious intent
you've been taken but you don't know it yet
what you will know must never live to be found
cause it's the subject of the eyes of the drowned

Voiceover: President George H. W. Bush
What we are looking at is good and evil, right and wrong
A new world order
A new world order
A new world order
A new world order
We're not about to make that same mistake again
A new world order
A new world order
A new world order
A new world order
A new world order
A new world order
A new world order
A new world order
fade

Any people not fans of industrial music, just scroll on by...

Yes! only Obama has the people behind him and will be willing to follow him easier than if it was McCain. Obama is being set up for the World stage anyway. See, this really isn't about America, but the World.

If McCain had selected Romney over Palin I'd have thought twice...but not as hard as if he'd picked Hagel. As for doing something we never thought we'd have to do......bailing out wall street is something I thought we'd never have to do.

Today, the country is safe, my world is good and I'm going to continue to take it a day at a time.

Your country has always been safe? When wasn't it? Our borders are like swiss cheese and yet there hasn't been any attacks since 911 (debatable if we did it to ourselves). That fear tactic they use is a good one. It makes people give up their rights to have the appearance of being safe. Hey, it worked on me too. I bought in too, I have just cashed out, thats all. Sadam was NEVER a threat to us, ever. Yet we attacked his country, people, and stole his oil. Why, because of fear. Iran will go down the same way. They will make us fear them and we have to do it to protect ourselves. It is amazing what a little fear will make people do.

Damn, I know things are bad out there right now but this is one of the most cynical outlooks I have come across...let's see, Obama is the next Jim Jones and anyone who supports him (except BA apparantly) is nothing more a kool-aid drinker blindly following him to their doom; McCain has been trying to loose this whole time (I won't even ask why he would do this); the election was over a year ago in favor of Obama when "they" made him "the chosen one" (I won't even ask who "they" is); FOX News wants Obama to win in a landslide (perhaps FOX News is the "they" you refer to); and Obama has a secret "ask" that he is going to spring on us all after the election.

A question for you...a few posts ago you said:

quote:
I respect your strong belief in Obama and I hope you are right. I am just not sold on the blind faith that so many seem to have in this man. I do hope he wins though, it is what is best for this country on Tuesday night.

In starting this thread you said Ron Paul is "by far and away the best choice for President." But then in the quote above you said that Obama winning is "what is best for this country". Is it me or did you just pull a Palin/Biden-like gaffe? I respect that you have taken the time to lay out your thought process in a constructive manner and I know that I am probably coming across as rather flip, but it does seem like maybe you are more conflicted about this election than want us to believe.

Gondicar,

Obama needs to win for the sake of the country at this point. I don't want to wake up Wednesday morning and find my city ablaze. If Obama is winning in all of the polls and looses the election? Well, you do the math.

Ron Paul is clearly the best man for POTUS.

As far "they" are concernend, just watcht the youtube clip in the first post.

Still with the city's will burn outlook? JPB - not sure where you live but I'm pretty sure that my city will not be set ablaze if Obama does not win.

Sorry - not a paranoid believer and not even entirely sure what part of this concept that has been around for almost a century you are referring to when you get on this NWO boogeyman band wagon.

I have seen DEADHEADS riot. I know generally people are good, but, caught in the situation, you can't even say for sure what you would do?

Would you have stormed the gates at Deer Creek? Too easy to say no, put yourself there, at that time, and you really can't say for sure. Good people got caught up in this shiit. Mob mentallity takes over like a wave and you just can't say for sure what would happen if Obama was winning in all the polls and then looses this election.

I know whoever wins, when I wake up and walk out my door, it will look the same as it has since 1983. Trees and Bushes may big a little bigger, grass may be much greener, one thing for sure I will have a hell of a lot less political mail......

In the past its always worked out. Maybe not quite the way everyone wants it, but it works out. The only thing that I am a little curious or skeptical of is ANY party that has total control of the House, Senate with their party having the Presidential spot. Has this ever happened in modern day? It may be called filabuster proof?? Correct me if that term is incorrect......
