I'm a fan Ronnie. I really didn't listen to them until the Black album was released, but now I own their entire collection. Death Magnetic is a great CD, but I reccomend Ride The Lightning.

I'm a fan of "long-haired" Metallica, not so much "short-haired" Metallica . . . i.e., up to the black album.

Ride the Lighting is probably my favorite, also.

I'm liking the new one more with each listen. "And Justice for all" is my fave.

I was there from the beggining before 'Kill Em' All' was even released on a major label. It came out on an independent label. Everyone I knew said that they sucked and would never amount to anything. I guess I was right on that one.

I have only listened to a little bit of 'Death Magnetic' but like what I hear so far. I didn't like anything on the last album.

I LOVE Metallica in all of their iterations. My one and only Metallica show will forever remain an all time top five for me.

The new stuff does nothing for me..

Kill Em All and Master Of Puppets are all time classics though

Best album they've done since Master Of Puppets. I was highly suspicious of Death Magnetic but can't stop listening now. Gonna see them a week from tonite and I'm geeked. I guess they are playing alot of the new album live... between that and the classics there should be a minimum of crap from Load, Reload and St. Anger.

"Judas Kiss" is one of my favorite Metallica songs. Amazing Kirk Solo in that one

I'm one of the few people who thinks "...and Justice For All" was a weak album. The mix is horrible and I never thought the songs were much to write home about. As far as the newer sound I didn't think Trujillo was a good fit. Loved him in Suicidal Tendencies but find his stage presence with Metallica really irritating. However I'm really into his playing on the new album and I'm excited to see him perform the new stuff.

I am glad some folks dig it... I think it is pretty weak. The production and arrangements seem like thier was no sincerity in it whatsoever. I like the original Metallica... The actual L.A version...(still can't figure out why they are called a bay area thrash band ?) The handful of shows I seen with Mustaine and Mc Covney were great. Mostly due to Mustaine, of course. Lars was a very poor drummer and for his sake took some lessons and improved alot before "KIll em All" came out.
I am with Randy... Ride the Lightning is the bands finest moment and for those who don't already know.... The best new album by an old 80's band is Tesla's "Forever More"
That is an album that is evident of a band that put some sincerity and honesty into the writing, recording and playing from begining to end. Modern sounding...yes ! Yet still Tesla, the best "rock and roll band" to ever be mislabled.
