A right wing religious fundamentalist group hired an ad agency to come up with a slogan that would demonize people who believe in a woman’s freedom of choice when it comes to abortion. They came up with “Choose Life”. This makes it seem if you are in favor of woman’s choice, you are also in favor of death and killing.

The state of Florida offers a license plate with the right wing propaganda slogan “Choose Life” on it. They do not offer a plate that offers a different point of view. I hate to see my tax dollars go to support a moral issue one way or the other. Where is the separation of church and state?

My tax dollars go to fund the custom license plate program. It is not run entirely off of plate sales. Even if it was, the state should not be getting involved in religious issues.

I like your plate though

GA has the same sort of specialty tag. There are fees to manufacture it, and extra fees on renewal stickers to keep the special tag, so they are profit centers for my state. I don't care. I doubt anyone follows the commands of another's tag anyway. GA even allows an Auburn Univ tag; now that's offensive!

Why should you be allowed to advertise your moral and religious beliefs through a state run program? The state can make billboards that promote safe driving, but what would you think of a billboard that urged for the repeal of Roe v Wade? Should the state have the right to do that? Think of your license plate as a small billboard!

BTW, how are the Auburn Tigers like Karl Rove? They both are known for their offensive lines!

Wonder what would happen to the car if it had a Pro Choice plate. I guarantee you someone would find a way to trash it.....however, I doubt seriously any of those of us who are pro choice would trash a right to life plate.

I agree that the act of abortion is a horrible and unimaginable act. But the problem is with responsibility. If your 16 old gets pregnant (Palin), there is something wrong with your parenting skills. I believe that people should be accountable and accountability to a human life is as important as it gets.

That being said, I can’t see how we can take the right of a woman’s choice away? What next? Maybe we will take their right to vote away?

Re: partial birth abortion, you are taking Obama's stand out of context, Luke. He has not said he is against restricting these but that he thinks legislation for restricting them should include provisions to protect the health of the mother.

Forget it, Deb.

Luke doesn't understand this or want to, it goes against what he read on the internet.

Time and time again he repeats this bullsh!t.

LUKE is passionate on this issue. I am not insulted by his remarks. He has the same right we do to express our views.

Nobody likes abortion. I believe it is all to often used as birth control. It is such a difficult issue to come to terms with. I don't agree with LUKE. Regardless of personal feelings, it is up to the woman and her doctor. Who can say what they would do under certain circumstances? Modern technology has made partial birth abortion questionable. I don't believe it happens very often. But again the woman's judgment should be honored.

The government should not intervene. Some of us are old enough to remember the "good old days", before Roe vs Wade, when it was illegal. Many girls and women nearly lost their lives with back alley abortions. Women will get abortions whether it's legal or not, so I say leave it alone.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, But I think we'd all be better off mowing our own lawns first and being a little less concerned about your neighbor's. You.. don't believe in abortion...
That's fine....

Tell me Luke...How many children have you adopted?

Big V, LUKE and his wife did take in a girl for a few years. The girl has a baby of her own now and LUKE plays GrandPa. The man has a good heart.

That is admirable, a tip of the hat to he and his wife.

It's been my experience over the years that "pro-life" people are the first to yell and the last to adopt...

No one said the 'choice' issue is an easy one to discuss. As a woman with three daughters and a wealth of women friends who have all experienced life and many of its complications I respectfully say whatever choice a woman makes is between her doctor and God.

I'm surprised Luke left out video games as a cause.
