Being someone who remembers buying gas for 19 cents I find it ironic that I'm now absolutely giddy about the $2.00 gas prices in my area.

Saw $2.09 this morning.

(When I was in high school, gas was .75 a gallon [1986])

LOL - yes the 19 cent gas was after I got a floorboard and rubber tires on my car and graduated from feet power.

I haven't got the time to rail against Big Oil. I'm too busy trying to arrange gay marraiges between Joe Sixpack and Joe the Plumber.

I remember the 19 cents, and hi-test for 22. Then there would be gas wars between two competing stations and it might be 12 cents.

I saw 2.39 this morning in Greenback, TN.

And the giddiness is the "conditioning" for accepting 2.00.

And to think it only cost us 3 Trillion in savings to get gas below $2 a gallon. I guess to some it makes them feel better when pull up to the pump, but these prices have come at a heavy cost America.

We've had $1.99 a gallon for a few days here. That obviously disappoints those who wished it would go to $6.00 a gallon and stay there. But, it is a good thing and goes against the "it will never be below three dollars a gallon ever again" folks. People are filling up whatever they can.

That's pretty amazing!

I was giddy over finding regular at $3.15.

Not so giddy about paying $4.21 for a package of buns for the pork shoulder I cooked Saturday night.
