The right wing’s conspiracy to control the masses is centered on the perpetuation of ghettos and the suppression of minorities. Uneducated fearful people are much more easily controlled.

Also, their plan relies on racial division. They love it that blacks have developed their own sub-culture. I can’t relate to Ebonics, rap, and giant pants. Blacks from the ghetto can’t relate to growing up in a safe neighborhood, being given a first class education, going to ABB concerts, and then moving on to a successful and lucrative career.

The main thing that the right wing wants to do is to keep welfare and drugs flowing into the ghettos, and they want to make sure to maintain separatism between the races. They need to keep people uneducated, fearful, and separated, so we don’t get together and figure out that there is a conspiracy.

You know something, I've heard the same thing for years, about the left wingers. Seems like somebody found an old article and just changed a couple of words (the ABB reference for one)

Isn't it a fact that minorities, especially blacks, vote Democrat? So how does that help the "right"? The right wing, as you say, has no monopoly on wanting to control people.

I consider myself right of center and I absolutely do not want to see what you speak of. Please don't generalize like this.

The control of people through fear and has been going on since time began. I truly believe that there is an organized conspiracy going on right now. The dumbing of America is part of it.

Don’t be naïve.

And to the person whose reply was “trolling”, thanks for the meaningful discussion.

If you want to go through life with blinders on that’s fine, but this is meaningful and very important to me.

Do you actually believe that there is no “man”? Don’t you believe there are secret organizations making policies behind closed doors?

Both parties make take runs at the fear angle to secure voters for their parties.

I'll agree to a degree that they both political parties want more control over the lives of people.

Sure there is a "man" and back room deals, but you think only Republicans engage in it? It is the whole culture of Washington, they are the "man", not just the right-wing. I don't know how you can say others have blinders on when you only see things the way you want it.

The biggest challenge anyone could have is convincing the people that willfully allow themselves to be dumbed down that they need to wake up and take interest in the bigger picture. The people that buy a news paper for the sports section and throw the rest away, or the people who watch American Idol instead of a Presidential Debate. There are plenty that aren't engaged in the issues of our country and I don't buy that it is all a conspiracy.

I will offer that in the current culture, it would seem that the people with strong racial bias towards blacks are tending to vote Republican, but, there's also no shortage of extreme racist people that are anti-government, period. Racism in and of itself is extremely hard to accurately measure. One cannot look back at history and say that racism has always been exclusively a Republican or Democrat deal, hell, George Wallace was a Democrat.

It's disingenous to label all Republicans as racists or all members or the Right wing as racist. Are there right wing racists? Sure. Are they all? Of course not. Racism isn't particularly tied to political party. Even if it is a factor on how people vote, especially this year, that factor does not necessarily have anything to do with party. I can be as partisan as the next partisan, but I won't go so far as to think that the entire right wing is racist.

Fear amongst the masses? Are you talking the white masses? I'm 38 and white, by the looks at the population projections, I just might be a minority in my lifetime.

I would have to disagree. If you really put some thought into it, you would see that the Democrats main battlecry IS welfare and other similar programs. They rely on that demographic to get elected, so they push that ideaology every chance they get. Do I think that they do that out of the goodness of their hearts, or for votes? I think it would have to be the votes. My parents (79 years old) have always considered themselves democrats, but now they dont. Why? Because democrats used to preach a fiscally conservative approach to government, while wanting to establish some programs to help people get "back on their feet". Now it is give give give, which does nothing but hold a certain socio-economic group of people down. My best friend growing up is a preacher who has established several inner city ministries, and he says that the current generational welfare state is the worst thing we have ever done to poor people in this country. I have to agree.

At what point do we rethink how we characterize people of mixed races? At one time, maybe even still (I don't know) a drop of African American blood "tainted" the person and they were considered to be a minority.

Maybe by the time we start to think about this issue, we will be at the point where it doesn't matter?

Really. And you were elected spokesperson and authority on what 'blacks from the ghetto' can relate to or want by who??? I'm with John - I think most everybody wants to feel safe and to have the benefit of a good education.

It looks like you guys are changing my words. I will not respond to the guy who called me a racist. I have spent my whole life fighting racial prejudice.

Lola – I said that blacks “can’t relate”. I did not say they did not “want” these things. I was trying to show how separatism occurs.

"can't relate" is racist.

you are saying they lack the mental capacity to understand and want these things.

If you are not a racist, you certainly choose your words poorly

Point taken and post edited but still not sure how you know what 'blacks in the ghetto can relate to'.

If you grow up in a ghetto, you definitely can not relate to the way I grew up. I went to a nice safe private catholic school. Imagine going to school and just trying to not get killed. Imagine a school where the teachers are just trying not to get killed. It is almost impossible to get a good education in this environment.

again you imply that folks in the getto lack the mental capacity or imagination to understand or relate to
a different kind of life.

Why was the Cosby show so popular in inner cities?

because they can't relate to a black family having
success and a decent education?

brilliant

If you want to know what the truth is, ask every black person you can who they are voting for, and try to find ONE who is voting for McCain. They are voting for Obama because he is black which is why the Obama campaign wanted to make sure to get out the black vote and get as many blacks registered to vote as possible, because they won't weigh the issues, they will vote color 100 per cent of the time.

You have made some pretty stupid remarks in your day, but I never thought you were as racist as you sound right now. That was completely out of line. You are the one who gets pissed when you think people sterotype Muslims.

I that kind of stereotype is dangerous and wrongheaded to make, but food for thought...what percentage of Americans would we say weigh the issues? People blindly vote party, follow union recommendations, vote on looks, vote for somebody because they can be funny on TV, and surely race/gender would play a role in the eyes of some voters regardless of the issues. I'm not sure if it would be a majority of voters, but I suspect a very large number vote on superficialities and in turn do themselves and all of us a disjustice.
