Here's my favorite;

Well the night that was high, we got into town
Was the night that the rain, it froze on the ground
Down the street I heard such a sorrowful tune
Comin' from the place they call the Spanish Moon

Well I stepped inside, and stood by the door
While a dark-eyed girl sang, and played the guitar
Hookers, and hustlers, filled up the room
I heard about this place they call the Spanish Moon

One false step, you get done in
It's a cold situation
If that -- that don't -- kill you soon
The women will down at the Spanish Moon

I pawned my watch, and I sold my ring
Just to hear that girl singing,
Don't take long, to wake up ruined
The women will down at the Spanish Moon

R.I.P. Lowell

There's a significant verse left out:

Whiskey, and Bad Cocaine
Poison Get You Just the Same
And If That -- That Don't -- Kill You Soon
The Women Will Down At the Spanish Moon

The man could make a strat talk with that craftsman socket on his finger! Waiting On Columbus sits right up there with AFE and where We All Belong on my island list! As 10/29 looms, and we all think of Duane and his contributions, it's good to relflect on Others like toy and Lowell who we hold dear as well! Props to you BigV for keeping Da Feat in our thoughts here!

Lowell and early "Feats" were superb. I was wondering if anyone else on the site felt that way when this thread went pretty much unanswered, so I'm bumping it within this thread:

I love the "Join the Band" introduction. The Feat is making their way from their dressing room thru the hall to the concert and they start singing as the the crowd gets louder.
Then the Washington radio DJ announces them....

F!! E!!! A!!! T!!

"Come back Monday, maybe Tuesday and then I might..." Ever try to explain the lyrics to Fat Man in The Bathtub ? Besides being the 2nd. best slide player in history of guitar lol, Lowell had a tremendous sense of humour.

Little Feat is my fave band of all time. I saw them many, many times with Lowell. I saw them last year at Bear Creek Fest. and loved every minute of it. Only the second time without Lowell and many years between the two shows. I love Little Feat and am thankful that they are still playing and will always! They are the best--for me!

I was singing Fat Man in the Bathtub and my dad got out of the bathtub and told me that was a pretty good song I made up about him!

I'm with you, Kitty ... this is one of my all time favorite live recordings... I never tire of it. With Richie Hayward being a 'local boy' the Feat get a lot of respect in our neck of the woods (and luckily, we get a good dose of live shows )

Waiting for Columbus is The Best!

Little Feat used to play Atlanta all the time. I am thankful. They still do play here, but usually on a Wed. or N. Atlanta, and I can't go.

I recently got a string of Lowell George shows, from his ill-fated tour in June 1979.
I especially like the one from Lisner Auditorium, DC (same location of some of the WAITING FOR COLUMBUS tracks) which happens to be the final show the night before his death. It's so eerie listening to it because you know what happened the next day!

Never saw Feat with Lowell, but I was a huge fan.

Did see them in Houston with Craig Fuller.

One of my top ten best concerts ever.
