Listening to the Raleigh 10/1/04 IL this morning, and I forgot it has Gregg singing Blue Sky on it, I know he has done it a few other times to, like in the EAP recreation show, he sounds pretty good on it. I like the way Warren sings it though, like he did with Phil & Friends.

I am happy the the ABB will still play it (not going to hold my breath for their version of Ramblin man though! Lol), who would you rather have sing it, Gregg or Warren?

Gregg sings it really well, but its a song Dickey should sing.

As much as I love Gregory (as if y'all didn't know that ), I have to say that this song just ain't right unless Dickey sings it.

Gregg should sing everything, not just "Blue Sky." No love for Dickey's vocals. Warren is better than Dickey IMHO on vocals, but I'm fine with just Gregg.

I prefer Gregg singing "Blue Sky" over Warren. I do love that version from the '04 Fox shows, that song just belongs in key of E.

I've always loved Gregg's harmony vocal on the EAP version of Blue Sky.

Definitely, in the current lineup it should be Gregg. Not that I think they will still play it. Which is too bad, some of those versions were great.

Can't imagine Blue Sky being sung by anybody but Dickey but if it was to be done by current ABB line-up I'd say Gregg on vocals.

I saw them do it a couple of years back at the Beacon with Gregg singing and to be honest, I didn't really care for it. That and 'Ramblin' Man' are Dickey's signature songs and really aren't the same without his vocals. They are two of the few songs that I think the ABB should just not play anymore. Unless Dickey were to sit in for a few tunes.

IMO there are enough songs in both catalogues for the ABB, and DB&GS. Let Dickey have his material. If it was down to one song of Dickey's in the ABB sets, it should be IMOER. They should have availability to songs Duane recorded with Dickey, but after that it should end.

I agree. Certain songs from the all-together wayback days I enjoy hearing current line-up do but Blue Sky and Rambling Man have never been on the list of tunes I've wanted to hear today's ABB do. Just my opinion.
