This past night has been a long one. No sleep due to anger. I have not left my home since Thursday night due to a bad cold. Dean is back, and has come at me with attacks in every forum. It started over in the Allen Woody thread. Under one of his many names, he said some things regarding Allen I didn't like. All I did was ask him if he was there. He has sent over 35 PM's in the last few weeks with gay pornographic material. Last night he hijacked a thread that was in memory of tattooneil. I outed him in the WP when that happened. Again he would post gay porno in Neil's thread, then delete them. This went on for most of the night. Gay pornographic stories were being posted everywhere along with terrible racial slurs. I am not the only person that saw this. Maybe I should have left my computer turned off which I did at one point, but I turned it back on, and there were more PM's. I can show anyone that would like to see the PM's he does not deny it is Dean. The name he is using now is m1dn1ghtr1der. Saturday it was Statsborowhippingpost. I would never say, or do anything in this forum that I wouldn't do face to face. If you look at his profile he even says he is from Cincy. Right now I wish that were true. My sons come here, and know my nic. They love the ABB themselves, and I would be very upset at what was posted were to be seen by them. I will leave my posts as they are, and let them speak for themselves. Kevin

Kevin, no appology needed. This has gone way beyond what I would even consider stupid. He has a real serious mental disorder that needs major therapy. He has been bashing several here for months now and turns on another at the drop of a hat.

Just keep reporting his posts that are offensive and that may be why some where deleted so quickly because I am sure many have been doing that. The administration is and has been onto his many different screen names. Please do not let this troll disrupt anything. That just gets his satisfaction. We are all here for the love of the music and family and will continue to carry on in spite of his crap.

You're a good person Kevin as are 99% of the others.

Here's what is really starting to stink. I can't even go to the threads that were fun to respond to, with silly jibes here or there (which is a major part of my personality), and not worry that the wrong people will get on, hijack and ruin it for everyone.

This board is a place I frequent more than my own email account. I am here several times a day, checking in on people I like to have correspondence with, albeit a line here and there...most times agreeing wholeheartedly with their opinions on someone's guitar playing, sending positive vibes to someone's loved one, sharing 'first-concert' stories or the like.

What has happened lately? I feel this dark cloud (doom shall rise?????) on so many threads, and it is really starting to drag this positive mama down. Yes, I have even said, "We can do this, people! Let's stick together, Peach Power!" on a few threads, trying to band together the many, many of us who are here for fun and genuine interest.

I don't want to stop coming here just because there are a few bogus bullies who can't stand on their own two feet in person. I feel that my posts have turned a little negative, in responding to some of these trolly figures. Some of you tough guys are great at throwing it back at them, and I can be a tough guy too. Thing is, these are just words. But when the words take on a negative form, they start to become more emotionally revealing. And I don't want to be defensive! I had to bark back at some dude who was saying (writing) terrible things about a friend of mine.

It's just getting out of hand, and for the majority of us who really enjoy coming here, it would totally suck if it were to one day disappear because of a few jacka$$es who try to ruin a truly good thing.

Peace.

in person ? ? not so much..lol
they are attention whores..and if you let them anger you, drive you off the site or change your behavior, you give them what they crave..

sometimes it's easy to igonore people...other times it's hard to not think out loud or call someone out on it just for the sheer ignorance & lack of compassion as a human...or so called human in some instances!

Agree too. I know some well meaning people think they are doing a service to tell the trolls off, but it just does not work. Let us lower the cone of silence!

I think Lana & Rowland need to ban his IP address from this website & then he won't be able to visit this site anymore from home.
Or maybe they just need to post his IP address for everyone to see so that he can't hide behind alias' & gay porn anymore.

i agree..it can be very tough..for me, it is always a work in progress...but we get angry and they laugh...

so, is it worth it ?

I don't think so.
As I have learned yet again recently, we can't control what people do to us...we can only effectively manage our response..

and this is VERY hard to do sometimes....as our dear friend Willie Howard would say..."Step away from the computer"...LOL....every time I get angry and want to send a nasty response I just remember this.....it does help most of the time....

If we were all a little more like our brother Bill Ector this world would be a much better place....I MISS BILL!

I am in total agreement with Lefty and Leeann.. a great couple who also thinks alike

It's the hardest thing not to WANT to response to some one's post either directed at you , or pictures posted to you... you feel vulnerable , helpless ..so whats left is the words on the keypad that you create... Yes, Leeann ..what Bill has said in the past will ring true forever... Step away for the computer... take a very long break...

I can't help but think that Only the *very* good die young... We do miss Bill , his compassion, his smile, and his warmth... A great man.

When you see a post from this person..don't click on it... leave it alone and stay outta that thread ..don't open any pm from him ..hit delete.... gone... you can do it...

The latest version of Dean had some real bizzare posts last night and I'm taken that he deleted them.
I don't recall the rantings he went on year(s) ago.
Presidential elections bring out many folks underlying demons ( disorders) and usually stems from the religious background. Instead of the Love in a religion freeing an individual, the grip is tightened on the mind and obsessive thought turns into bizzare and possibly harmful acts, behaviour and a mind where fantasy becomes reality.

Daily there is a media feed of spin artists that feed peoples dis-orders. Its been open season this year with no bag limits.

Deans mother passing away recently, the elections ( plenty of religious overtones in this one! whew ) and the anniversary of the Lynyrd Skynrd crash are events that we can attibute to his sadness.

I hope Dean will seek calm and can figure out the solution to free his mind from this torment he must be going through now.

amen..

Jon, you are right..i know there are always reasons...but this is a community of amazingly kind people...if you can't find love and compassion here, you just are not intersted in finding it at all....

Jon , you and Rainy are just two of the examples of that kind of person....

If anyone loses their mind of an anniversary having to do with LS is crazy in my mind.

I agree completely with the last sentence of this post. I have "seen" Dean in numerous incarnations and he is a knowledgable person about several groups and he has shared extensively with many folks on this site, including me. I am in no way condoning what he had done and frankly I am not interested in his recent postings. However, I do wish Dean a speedy recovery from whatever is haunting him.

Until the guy is banned and the board actively monitored he isn't going to stop.

I saw what he posted last night as well Mulehead and your anger is understood, though frankly you just have to report the post and leave the situation alone. Turn off the computer and walk away. Otherwise you will get all upset over something that you don't have the power to change in the moment.

Lana and Rowland need to take control of the situation. I recommend that everyone's ISP address get posted every time they make a post While it won't stop all trollish activity it does reduce the amount of people posing and posting bs. And eventually, the person goes off into their hole. It worked on the Philzone and it can work here too. They do it on the RatDog board too and I think it cuts significantly into the jerks who just want to annoy.

This Dean guy is way beyond that. He really should get a cease and desist letter,

Dean makes me sad - it's apparent that he's unhappy and unfortunately sometimes 'misery loves company'. I hope he gets some help - he has had to face some hard events lately but the wise thing would be to deal with them in a healthy manner instead of attempting to create caos. He would certainly feel better taking this path.

Krishna - believe he posts from libraries and such so it's not so easy to pin down an IP address otherwise I believe there wouldn't be so many issues here.
