Just one more morning I had to wake up with the blues.
Pulled myself out of bed, put on my walking shoes.
Went up on the mountain to see what I could see.
The whole world was falling right down in front of me.

Cause I'm hung up on my dreams Ill never see.
Yeah babe, oh help me babe.
Or this will surely be the end of me, yeah.

Pull myself together, put on a new face,
Climb down off the hilltop baby,
And get back in the race.

cause I'm hung up on dreams Ill never see,
Yeah babe, oh help me babe,
Or this will surely be the end of me, yeah.

Mine are from Walden Pond in Mass. Henry David Thoreau wrote the book Walden after spending two years at the pond. It is a great way to teach the kids. Don Henley of the Eagles is active in the preservation of this location and has put on several concerts for this since 1990.

Here is the original house location that was uncovered. The granite slab at the back was the site of the fireplace

Stones from the chimney

Very nice, we are going camping this weekend. No fishing, no boating, just cooking a few good meals, tossing back a few cold ones, and spending some time with old friends. Going to do some hiking..............so I hope to have some good pics to add to these nice ones..........

Lovely pics here! BigV - special thanks for those beautiful photos of 3 of my favorite places in the US ... Yosemite, Zion, and Oak Creek Canyon. Have camped in all of these locations at various times and fell in love with the natural beauty.

I took my certified diving in Rockport mid 90's. We found out on the news that a husband had dumped his wife there. That would have freaked me out to come upon that.

This was Peace in its purest form. This is the Big Trees trail in the Wawona section of Yosemite national park. Early November; a nice chill in the air, those are my friends Sam, (Maria, "Sam" was part of her last name) Spunk, (Mike, one of the original "Spunky" boys somewhere in Colorado) Toan, (pronounced "Twan") and me, taking the picture. We had been together on the road in a rented van for the better part of 8 hours when we arrived in Yosemite on the first day of a 5 night camping trip. We set up camp and walked this beautiful trail after a Gloves in the middle..."tap"...The beauty of it was that no one spoke for the hour and a half we were out on the trail. One of us would sit on a log, or wander off, only to catch up later managing to do it with a minimum of words. All you could hear was the wind and the crunching sound boots make in snow. I waited for the three of them to pass me and took this shot.
