First of all, the written commentary over top some of the video is pointless and not needed. But, the video itself speaks for itself. The pro-McCain supporters, and it looks like a veteran or two, are simply walking down the street in a show of support and the "tolerant' and "progressive' liberals respond in kind.

Well at least you are admitting it goes for both sides. I was under the impression you think Obama's supporters are all decent and high minded. My only point here is that fairness would show that it goes for both sides. We've heard plenty of the negatives surrounding McCain's campaign but very little of the nastiness from the left here.

Oh no, I leave that delusion to the right wing.

Ok, what I see is a lot of people booing and expressing their dislike with McCain/Palin. Is that not allowed? And it begs the question, what was the context of this march? Looks like some kind of street fair going on so I am wondering if perhaps the marchers and videoers knew they would get that kind of reception...kinda like how Red Sox fans showing up with Red Sox banners and signs at Yankee Stadium would probably get a similar reception.

Actually, this video reminds me of the treatment McCain got from his own supporters at his own rally when he tried to tell them that Obama is not "an arab" and is a decent man!

And did you read the comments? Talk about hate...here's a sampling from the 3,000+ that have been posted so far...

"Liberals ARE Terrorists !!!!"

"Liberals are the scum of the earth."

"This is a perfect example of how f*cked up liberals really are. F*cking Retards."

"The Upper West side is a left wing sh*t hole. The majority of the people there are as tolerant as Nazis. They hate America more than any foreign country and look down on anyone who doesn't have their bizarre political views. I wish I was there, and if I wouldn't get arrested I would love the punch out a couple slimy leftist worms!!!"

These two are pricesless...posted by the same venom-spewing user who says liberals are overeduated and then a few minutes later says they are uneduated (I wonder if this person trolls here as well?):

"typical uneducated ignorant liberal responses.ive got one question, since all you liberals cannot think for yourselves, did your boyfriend tell you to say that before or after you pumped him in the a**?"

"liberals prove that #1 they have no right in this country because they are hell bent on destoying tradtional American values #2 they are all"kool-aid"drinkers who cannot think for themselves and #3 they prove that no matter how much money you make, how long you went to school or what profession you have they are nothing more than a bunch of spineless,ass-kissing educated idiots!!"

Derek, while I personally treat the McCain supporters in my vicinity with nothing but respect, the fact remains that this was obviously a setup to make this video so people like you could make this point. You posted something about the Ohio McCain supporters' ugliness, noting we don't see the provocation from the other side (you weren't there and can't know for sure, but point taken). Here, why would you assume no provocation from the McCain supporters? After all, we barely see them in the video either. IN fact the whole enterprise seems every bit as selectively edited and framed as the Ohio video that cuts the other way.

Be consistent in your analysis.

People are people...you cant hold a candidate responsible for the actions of their supporters. Beyond that, anything you find on YouTube is suspect regardless of what it is, specifically if its user created as the bias is the driving factor, not necessarily the truth. It doesnt surprise me that Derek would try and use such an obvious ploy in an effort to smear Obama supporters, but I guess when faced with a shrinking lead in the national polls, a campaign ready to implode and a hawt VP candidate that just got found breaking the law, its all you can muster.

Typical response from the FAR right. Unbelievable...McCain's sycophants in Penn. shout obscenities and slurs at Obama supporters and it becomes obvious to the world and all watching that Penn. contains people mired in the beliefs of the 1950's. But when anti McCain factions yell at the Senators backers they are "liberals".....

Is that the best you have?

No wonder people laugh at Gov. Palin.

I see them getting the finger time after time. Sure, it is legal free speech. Yet the idea that the modern day liberal is in anyway open-minded or tolerant has been proven bogus long ago. For instance, Gondicar posts some of the over 3,000 responses to this Youtube video where idiots from the Right trash liberals with the quotes he uses, yet he completely ignores the even larger number of posts by liberals calling Republicans "nazis" and "Murderers" and all other kinds of vile BS. With the Left, and you can read people like squatch's posts on your own, they have little choice as once you get past the simple Bush-Republican bashing, there is nothing left in the ideological bin to work with. Selective viewing, obviously.

There are idiots on both sides, and to not see the idiots on the Left is the same kind of mindset where they march right next to the anarchists and fail to notice them.

Both sides.

Of course I see some people giving the finger (which by the way I get in NYC for simply wearing anything that says "Boston" on it, so I guess I see that and think no big deal in the context of what happens on the streets of NYC), but what we don't see is what if anything the person behind the camera is doing. The content of the text that is applied to the video leads me to believe there was a pre-conceived agenda for this video so I take the whole thing which a huge grain of salt.

And obvisouly there is back and forth in YouTube comments (although to me it is clear that the vast majority of the comments on that page are pointed at "liberals", but unless someone wants to take the time to actually count I guess you can say whatever you want about it). The only reason I quoted any of them was to make the point that whatever was said on the video, similar nastiness and more from the right is being said 10 times over in the comments about the video. Of course there is nothing issue based there, just lots of name calling and vulgarities with enough to go around. Like you said, both sides.

In any case, if your point was simply to show that BOTH SIDES in this election can be nasty name-callers, well ok then (next time tell us something we didn't know).

what would happen if you had an Obama parade in Waycross Georgia??? I don't think the B.O supporters would make it out alive. so youre post is pointless. it just shows how deeply divided this country is now after the last 8 years.

This film is as sterling example of the modern liberal mindset as any I've seen. They're enlightened, progressive and oh so very tolerant - as long as you tow the politically correct leftist line. Just look at our friends here.

If BarryO gets elected you're going to see a massive resurgence of the KKK, neo-Nazis and supposed right-wing "hate" groups. BarryO will makes Bush's divisiveness seem paltry.

How can one document something that hasn't happened yet?

A BarryO presidency is going to be like a rerun of the Carter years IF WE'RE LUCKY. I'm guessing he'll be just as useless and ineffective as Jimmy was but if he does begin the mass implementation of the foreign-style socialism, to which he's frequently alluded, stripping the citizenry of their rights and wages in the process - there may well be hell to pay. I'm not advocating it but Righties tend to be more proactive than their leftista counterparts who sit around all day p-ssing and moaning to one another on their computers.

Well you can't document points you make that have happened.

You actually think that slinging the crap that you do is proactive? The republican brand has been discredited. Party membership is dropping precipitously. In general many more people disapprove of republicans than approve. They feel republicans have caused the economic crisis. And your response to this is to click your heels and spout more BS.
