Thanks everyone, the auction was a success.
Once I get the last tally, I think the total will be about $2700 for the Ben & Hannah Ector Educational Fund. It was hard for us to see much of Bill's personal collection up for grabs, but in the end the cause is just as he would want it and the items into the hands of many who loved him and will give these items a loving home.
I believe the auction at the Tommie Talton show also raised about $300 and we all thank those who generously donated items for that part of the weekend.
We expect to auction off any remaining items and some newly donated items at Wanee next year, so look forward to round two!
Again, thanks to everyone for making this weekend a rousing success and really fun family time.
I HAVE TO REST NOW!! Oh wait, we have to unload the truck----------------

I wish some of the items would get posted here so all of us have a chance at bidding and helping not just the ones who get to go to a particular show. Seems like you did very well...

Thanks so much to Jamgram and her family, Barb, Dave and many others for a truely inspired effort that took more hours to pull off than might be imagined. What a sweet kind gesture for a sweet kind man. It was so nice to see everyone at the gathering. It made me happy to see Bill remembered - but still...how very bittersweet. It was soo good just to be around this family of friends. Thanks to all of you for your friendhship and love for Bill

Much thanks to Pat and Barb for being the ram rods on this thing, and to all those who pitched in and lent a hand at set up, clean up, etc. The famABBly gathering was definitely my favorite part of the weekend. I'd have to say the attendance was in the 75-100 range. Y'all a great bunch!

Wouldn't work, Bob. They'd then have to ship anything won and that would be a big headache and would affect the bottom line. Next time, send a proxy

Many thanks to Pat, Syd and all who helped. I wish I could've been there, but I'm planning on Wanee '09 and I'll help out any way I can.

Oh, and HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Syd!

Just want to echo what JNB said - it meant so much to all of us at HTN to see Bill remembered in such a loving way - it was a great, bittersweet day, but love certainly was everywhere

For me, it was an honor to be at such a wonderful event with such generous, giving people as this "family" has. Bluedad, that was really cool what you did. Great vibes all around, meeting some of you I only knew by name here. I hope everyone feels as refreshed as I have all day today.

Aww man,

Ya'll are making me blush...

Lefty got a strap, the kids got the money and my heart feels good which is equally important.... for me....

And Thanks to jamgram who gave me some of Bill's personal items. She told me that Bill would have wanted me to have them. In the package was a book and T-Shirt on Gibson guitars. When I looked closer on yesterday, there was Bill's coricidan bottle in the package....

To quote Wet Willie and a whole bunch of other people..."Everything that you do will come back to you"...

I am truly blessed to have friends like ya'll....

Bluedad, you brought a tear to my eye with your show of brotherhood there. We really enjoyed listening to Bill's music on our trip home. Pat, and Barb...You are some great folks! Thank you so much for everything you did. Dave, the shirts are awsome. I will never be able to listen to the music I bought without thinking of Bill. I regret not buying more today. Guess that means I have to go to Wanee next year!
