This morning four students from one of the local high schools in Gaston County (East Gaston High School in Stanley, NC) were involved in a fatal accident. It was raining and the student driving the truck hydroplaned and was t-boned by another vehicle. Two of the students were instantly killed, the driver and other passenger are in the hospital.

This is the second tragedy to hit this particular school in a few weeks. One of their teachers died a few weeks ago in childbirth.

My nephew, Justin, is a sophomore at East Gaston. Imagine what I thought when I heard the news.

This school need our prayers, please.

Footnote: Right now one of my cousins is still in a coma after four week because she also hydroplaned her vehicle when it was raining. We gotta be careful when driving in the rain, guys.

Healing prayers going out to your cousin and these poor kids who were in this accident, Susie. And comforting thoughts being sent to you and the community that are dealing with this sad tragedy.

The driver's father was suppose to be at my sisters house this morning to check out her heating and air system. We got a call from him letting us know the sad news. Poor kids, it was a horrific accident that happened in near the school. The other driver works in the cafeteria at the school. Both drivers who survived were transported to the Hospital with serious injuries. Prayers going out to all the families. Both the father and driver had also fixed our parents car after it was in a bump up last year.

So sad.........

Sad news, indeed. My thoughts are with all the families affected by this tragedy. And hoping things go better for your cousin also...

I can't stress enough to my loved ones to NOT use cruise control when the roads are wet. I am not saying that is what happened in these instances, but it is something that many of us forget.

Sad, sad news.

Prayers sent to all. Driving in the rain in the south is much different than the north. When I first moved to Florida, it was like what we call black ice here. Dew turns the road into ice you can't see. It is due to shells being part of the asphalt there. In parts of Florida, it was like driving on wet glass. You have to slow down.
