I drive from one north Atl suburb to another.

The 17.7 mile trip routinely takes one hour. On Monday mornings it's 1 hr 10 mins.

and things aren't improving ; there are zero plans for road improvements along my route.

Don't know if it's true but I have heard Atlanta has the worst traffic in the nation.

Out of bed and down the stairs into my office. But since I'm a contractor, depends on where the current job site is. Usually within a 10 mile radius. I feel for those I see on I-95 doing the daily crawl. Traffic has been known to not exceed 20 mph for a 50 mile stretch between the NY State line and New Haven NB on most afternoons.

1.6 miles from the house to the shop.

I'm usually 5 minutes late.

My trip last about 2 minutes. Get up walk to the bathroom, go, brush teeth, put contacts in and back to bed

I live 56 miles away from my office in DC.
But, since parking downtown is way too expensive, and traffic all the way into DC would be impossible, I drive "only" 38 miles to a Metro (subway) station.

Trip takes about 1.5 hours in the morning - maybe a few minutes more.

Afternoon?

There is no upper bound to how long it could take, but usually a bit less than 2 hours.

from the bed to the patio is about 15 steps

travel time varies with arthritis stiffness.

1.8 miles going in the opposite direction of the traffic heading to Philadelphia. If I hit the lights just right, I can make it in about 5 minutes from door to door. The downside to living so close to work is getting that phone call from your boss at 8 o'clock on a Sunday night asking you to come in. It's happened more than once.

Dang, Terri, no caller ID?

My commute has just been drastically reduced - used to be 42 miles each way, taking about 1.5 to 2 hrs. each way, depending on traffic, weather, construction, etc.

Now it's 14 miles each way, taking about 30 minutes as long as I don't stop for gas, coffee, etc.

One of the smarter things I've done, of late.

32 miles each way = 64 round trip to Shelby, NC. It takes me between 30 -40 minutes to get there, depending on the traffic and whether I am listening to Tinsley Ellis playing "Double Eyed Whammy" - that gets me down the road a lot quicker -LOL!

Oh, I do have caller ID. When you have to bill X amount of hours per year, every little bit helps! I like OT $$$ as well. Too bad that shrunk this year.

12 mi to my ofc takes about 20+ minutes. Once a week, I have to go the 30 interstate miles in am rush hour to downtown Atlanta. It's over 1.5 hours of hell, but my mid-day return is 35 min. I can't imagine doing the pm rush hour too, every day, but way too many do.

Until this year I had 5 minute trip - was so nice to go home on the lunch hour and play with Lola, do a load of laundry, sit on the patio and read my paper on nice days. The corp I work for has quite a few buildings in my city and this past winter my team was moved from downtown location to the burbs. Now takes my app. 30 min each way (if traffic is good, no construction on freeway).

In my grumpy old man state, I walk.

However, it always snows here, I have no shoes and it's uphill both ways.

On the younger side, I have a 12 mile commute and can be anywhere from
20 - 45 mins depending on the 95 congestion.

45 miles each way. However, the first 25 of it is very light traffic on a 4 lane with a turning lane. I can usually do it in 45-50 min.

Gas cost is becoming an issue, I try to ride the bike as much as I can. If it isn't raining and above 45-50 degrees, I can ride it and get 45mpg vs. 16 in the truck. My Mustang avgs 22mpg.

Like most commutes in the NYC area it's not the distance but the time it winds up taking . Staten Island to Jersey City 1 hour I drive to about 10 miles to a park & ride. Train & car are each about 30 minutes

I'm 12 miles one way to work. I have to go through three school zones, so it usually takes me about 20 minutes.

1 hour and 20 minutes door to door, although its getting longer with all the PATH traffic by the WTC. At this point, on the way to and from work, I feel like a salmon swimming up stream walking against thousands of people. I need a helicopter.

One mile walk to the train station, then a 25 minute ride each way.
