Dreams is my favorivite ABB song and my favorite version is on the One Way Out cd from 2004.

I was listening to it today and was thinking how much his subtle additions contribute to the mood of that hypnotic song.

The guy is a monster percussionist, and the ABB of today just would not be the same without him i hope as a fellow drummer i can meet him one day and shake his hand and say thanks..

I guess I don't know a lot about drums and percussion, but I like what Marc brings to the Allman Brother's Band. I'm one of the folks who enjoy and look forward to the MaJumBa (or whatever it is that y'all call the drum/percussion portion of the show). In addition to that, Marc seems to be a pretty good vocalist, too. Songs like, "Midnight Rider" have taken on a CSN quality thanks to Marc's backing vocals. Adding Marc to the band was like putting salt and pepper on food ... that little extra spice just makes it that much better!

Marc is probably the band member most taken for granted. If he was gone, we'd notice. Then we'd all be like...."Where'd Marc go?"

Even though I'm a guitarist, I tend to actually watch the drummers/percussionists more than anything in the band when I go see them. I feel that as amazing as everyone on the front line is, the band just would not have even close to the same original sound or intensity without the drummers.

That was true even before Marc joined. Butch and Jaimoe are such an amazing phenomen. And because of that, i know some hardcore drum enthusiasts that think "get him out of there", "they don't need it", etc. Well, I aways say "Have you heard him play?" I love him.

I think the most important thing about his playing is that as amazing of a percussionist as he is, as fast as he can play and the chops he has, he knows when to lay low or get out all together. That is amazing. Or when he does something like plays tambourine for 12 minutes straight during a long slow blues number like "Forty-Four" and is totally into it the whole time.

I met him just once and yes, he's a great guy.

I must add to the Marc Q. love. I must say the rumours that he was going to leave the band had me feeling a bit nervous. He is an absolute percussion monster who really adds so much to the sound of the band. His harmonies always put a huge smile on my face. If you haven't noticed already, pay attention to how often Marc nails the high harmonies.

Marc is great! I love what he adds to the ABB both with his rythyms and harmonies. And anybody with the chops to play timbales for Tito Puente as a child ... well...

I would love to see a third drum kit onstage and let them all pound away at a show. Apparently he fills in for Jaimoe on occasion. Sometimes Jaimoe leaves and Marc takes his place.

Lefty, You are so spot on. I remember watching Warren sign autographs outside the Fox a couple of years back until everone gathered got one.

Once had a nice chat with Jaimoe at Wanee too.

Props to Chuck Leavell also , I had the priviledge of speaking with him last week before his sound check. We chatted for sometime about Keith Richards, the ABB, Macon, and trees before someone grabbed him by the sleeve and said ..Chuck we really need to get going.
