Starter Tunes:
All In Time
Glory
Divisions
Words
2nd Self
Hajimemashite
Wife Soup
Miss Tinkles Overture
Slacker
Walletsworth

Get a few different live versions of these tunes and you'll be well on your way.....they probably have close to 100 songs in regular rotation so it may take a while...but Brendan and Jake can hang with any guitar duo out there (I know that says a lot, but its true).

All In Time
Divisions
40's Theme
Hajimemashite
Nothing 2 Fancy (some of these can really take off like a rocket)

FF >"Jimmy Stewart" 12/04/04 Atlanta, GA - saw this live, holy smokes

Miss Tinkle's Overture > Thunderstruck > Miss Tinkle's Overture 12/11/04 DC - they were really on it Dec 2004

If you like that pm me and I'll suggest more, I recommend their nearly all their covers too, i especially like Trenchtown Rock, No More Tears, Ain't Too Proud to Beg, Miss Gradenko, Making Flippy Floppy, and That's The Way.

I'm gonna agree with jparadise and say that brendan and jake can most definitely hang with any guitar duo, one of the best kept secrets in rock n roll. You have to see them in the flesh to fully appreciate what they can do though.

I would imagine that 90% of this forum would really enjoy umphreys if they gave them a shot, especially the covers.

i didn't get a lot of their early stuff and figured you need to see them live to get it. my friend used to say the same thing and she now likes them.

i like some of the newer stuff which is a little more electronic and trancey.

archive has lots of shows. enjoy.

I bought "Live at the Murat" earlier this year knowing I would see Umphrey's at Mountain Jam and it's been in the regular CD rotation this summer. Probably covers a bunch of their material. One of the things about live discs I like. Good stuff on this disc and it's their only release I have so far but I'll buy some more probably in the future. Good stuff on this disc.

Yes Live at the Murat is a great place to start......there's an absolute NASTY Ringo > Hajimemashite > Ringo on that first disc.
