For someone reason I just cant envision them playing that song. It just seems like it would not be in the ABB vein of music. I love that song though. I watched the video and it just sems odd to me. Oh well..RAWK on Warren!!

Thanks for posting this! As memory serves, the original Allmans tease "Dazed and Confused" during "Mountain Jam" on Live at Ludlow Garage.

I agree...And as far as doing a Zep cover, I'd rather see them play "How Many More Times"

There was indeed one brief segment of the famous descending instrumental riff on Ludlow, but certainly no vocals or a drawn-out segment of the song. I've heard the current ABB do it in person, myself, and I'm personally not a fan of it. But I doubt the Band cares about little' ol' me...

P.S. I'm just glad they're still out there playing for us!

Some covers are good when the ABB does them...

and some are better covered by Gov't Mule

Very nice point, and I love the cover of "Beginnings" in your sig. I used to stare at that photo for hours at a time as a kid...

Warren Haynes is too young to be a real Allman Brother. The ABB were not playing a style of music that had anything in commen with the "Rock Star" posturing of Led Zeplin.

Right. In 1970, Zepp were wearing tie-dyes, playing those 20-minute jams, electrifying the blues, and doing extended drum solos. I'm glad the ABB never went that way.

It dosen't matter if you can compare them superficially. Zeppelin were all about ego and showmanship, The Allmans were only about the music. Read what Duane said.

LOL!...Exactly! It sounded very cool and completely Allmanized to me. Whats not to like? It's heavy Psycedelic- Blues and judging by The Red Rocks reviews and the crowd in that video they certainly ate it up... and the band certainly likes breaking it out once in a while. This is the greatest live band on the planet and they can do anything in Jazz/Blues/Rock/R&B and everything in between and make it sound cool and authentic. How many bands out there can completely smoke a Jazz tune like "Afro Blue" and then nail "Dazed and Confused" just as well?...Not many. The people that complain they don't like it are typically the same people that complain about pretty much anything under the sun regarding The ABB. It's only a song, one song, thats all. I applaud the guys for giving their all every time they take the stage and trying new things all the time. It is still The Allman Brothers Band to my ears. As Butch says "They are keeping it fresh"...

Seems like it would sound great slowed down to a "Stormy Monday" type of tempo.

Not that it doesn't sound damn good now.

Well you could say that they were about ego and showmanship. That would be an opinion I guess. Showmanship is not a bad thing considering it is the entertainment business. As for ego, I guess that they could get that way from being the second best selling band in rock's history. And they got there by creating some of the best albums in rock.

You don't like them which is obvious and OK but nothing in your opinion will take away fact. Seems to me that the ABB and Led Zeppelin share a few fans.
