Anyone have any idea ?

I'd love to see Pedro fill in.
George Porter Jr would be my first choice however, that is a pipe dream

If Easy Michael or BigDaveOnBass don't want the gig, then I vote for Jason Newsted 'cause he's from my hometown.

George would be phenomenal. I guess it could be anyone and I'll take whoever they get, but I do have to say that I pretty much hope it will not be Greg Rzab, although there is a good chance it will be. He sat in with the Brothers last night in Chicago.

I still like the idea of Jason as well

I would love to see George or Pedro. Jason Newsted would be a nice addition too.

Victor Wooten would be another....

There is another thread about Susea meeting him at the airport, the question was asked and Andy said he could not elaborate and we would know soon enough. Now, in my mine, if he was staying he would had said, Hell no, I am not going anywhere. We will see.

I can't do it, as much as I'd LIKE to.

What originally made this band great with was the thunder that Woody brought to it.
With that said, the mule needs is a bassist who uses a pick and has more balls than Hess.
Then I might start seeing them again. No offense to Andy Hess, he is talented but he never fitted in with what the Mule is all about.

I couldn't agree more. I really like George, but he's probably too busy and I think he likes playing with a lot of different bands. I am sure Greg is a solid player, but I could never get in to him.

I guess we will all have to wait and see

You figure you know more about what the Mule is all about than Haynes and Abts?

All great bass players, but not a great fit for Mule. Bring 'em on as guests, for sure!

I can say with certainty Pedro isn't on the short list of replacements for Andy. I asked him.

I vote for Jeff Beck's Bass player, Tal Wilkenfeld.....He doesn't tour all that much which makes for plenty of time to do both gigs. But if Oteil is available, and interested. Wow!!! The possibilities....

First of all i hope Andy stays but in case they are looking for a new player i hope his style is closer to Allen Woody's. I read some interesting names on this and the previous thread but personally i hope it's not Mike Gordon. Just my 2 cents.

A player like Gerry McAvoy would be cool....

If Andy leaves, which I hope he doesn't, I hope the next bass player is an
Allen Woody "thunder bass" style player

That is very interesting. And I am happy to see that someone agrees with me about Greg. Greg IS a very talented player, but something about him rubs me the wrong way, at least for the Mule. I can't get into him. In most cases like this I am not usually this opinionated.

Yes more along the lines of Woody's playing. The next one will probably be more aggressive!
Although i love Andy's playing but there is no improvisation.Mule needs that back as well!

Rook Goldflies. It will be the first step towards his participation in the ABB's 40th anniversary.

No one would like to see this anymore than myself. It will never happen. Dave plays jazz these days, and I don't think money would even be a factor.
