Got a text message from Susea who ran in Andy at JFK on her way to Red Rocks. I asked her if she talked to the rumor of Andy leaving the Mule. He stated "I cannot elaborate on that right now, but you will know soon enough!"

Next show after red rocks is Telluride Blues and Brews. We will see if he is there.

He did not say anything but, you'll know soon enough. I hope he was pulling her leg. Give this a rest until it is confirmed. This is as bad as McCains VP pick crap this morning.

Makes perfect sense. Oteil is leaving to join the mule and Rook is coming back for the 40th anniversary tour.

I'm real glad I caught The Mule last month then.

Andy is a solid bass player. His style may be different from Alan Woody's as he sticks more to the key root note and does not do as many solo lines as Woody did, but I thought he was an incredible beat keeper, and he brought a lot to the band at a time when they needed a permanent bassist.

Hey Andy. I hope you read this. I think you've done a damn fine job and if you are leaving, I hope for you nothing but the very best brother...

I'll second this sentiment.....While I'll always miss Woody, Andy did a great job and I'll miss him. Thanks for the great music, Andy!

It figures it would be a fellow musician who proves me wrong... But I did say "not as many solo lines as Woody....

But thanks much for that clip Dave. Sweet ....

LPS, this is why I won't be Mule's new bassist. I don't solo.

It would stink if it's true, but I'm confident that Warren will fill the void with a worthy replacement.

If Andy does leave I'm sure Warren won't have any problem finding a capable replacment.
