The Allmans are Shells of Their Future Selves, yes they are. I think this year will pale in comparison to what they pull out and deliver for the big Four O Bash next year. I expect surprises, a winter rested Gregg, a joyous new attitude and *maybe* some new tunes...

I say cut them some slack, Gregg is still recovering (been there done that) and no matter how great he looks, he is probably at 80% energy. I looked better before I felt totally better on my trip.

Let whatever judgements fly AFTER next year, this is the dirt track warm up for the big banked ovals next year.

Gregg has been through a war most don't know, and harshness is well, rather demanding. If this years unhappy critiques ring true next year, so be it, I bet NOT.

I may have to move to New York for the entire Beacon run next year. That's going to be one heck of a run.

Anybody can criticize the Allman Brothers current tour for not matching up to the glories of the past, especially when those glories include the original lineup with Berry and Duane. That doesn't take much imagination or "outside the box" thinking. Boring!

However, it takes true creativity to criticize the tour for falling short of things that haven't even happened yet Bird, you are a true visionary, and I salute you!

All kidding aside, I'm sure the 40th Anniversary tour will indeed be one for the ages. Should be a really special event on a lot of levels.

In other news, the current Atlanta Braves are a mere shadow of the 2009 team. At least, God knows I hope so!

No, but I used to serve them to drunken business men many moons ago in a prior 'profession' as cocktail waitress (they were our munchie speciality during cocktial hour) But boiled peanuts I have tasted and I tried to like them but just couldn't talk myself into it.
