I've always thought that Albatross would be a great cover for the Allmans to tackle. Actually, I'd like to see them do any Peter Green.

Well, they kind of base their version of Little Willie John's "Need Your Love So Bad" on Fleetwood Mac's arrangement.

And, their version of "Who's Been Talkin'" is pretty close in sound & feel to Peter Green's "I Loved Another Woman".

That's as close as I've heard them get.

Yeah, "Albatross" would be cool...as a lead-in to another tune.

I loved both the Peter Green AND Bob Welch eras of Fleetwood Mac. Once Rumours made them as ubiquitous as Sheryl Crow is today, I got tired of them. I DID like them in the late 80's with Billy Burnette & Rick Vito...too bad that lineup didn't last longer.

Wow this thread is a blast! I was lucky enough to catch their first ever gig in 1967 at the Windsor Jazz & Blues festival in UK.
Peter Green was a genius alongside Eric Clapton and John Morshead [Aynsley Dunbar's Retaliation]
Great memories.

the first gig! wow! that must have been something. john morshead - there's a name you don't hear too often. the retaliation was a good band but pretty much over looked in the states. aynsley didn't make his name here until later playing with zappa and a host of others.
