I'm dying to hear an update of the Brothers at this venue! Anyone? Anyone?
I know this theater has a multi-leveled bar stool/seating section towards the back that can make for some cool spots to sneak away and chill in.

Were the bouncers and cops cool? Did the Brothers seem to enjoy themselves?

The show was amazing. The Morris in South Bend is a great place to see a show, I was second row and couldn't be happier. The Morris does have some bar areas but I didn't leave the front. This is one of the most beautiful venues I have ever been in.

The Security was cool for the most part. There was one tool that myself and some friends refered to as "the eager beaver" because he was just looking to regulate on someone. He actually tried to get some people to sit down and not dance during Karl Denson (who put on a great show himself) but his attempts failed terribly because there is no way anyone was going to stay seated for this show.

The band really seemed to be having a good time, joking around with each other, smiling and everyone was on. When members of Tiny Universe came out to jam everyone had a smile on their face.

They played two encoures as well

I have to say, "WOW" what a great venue. I was Left Center towards the back under the balcony. I walked in the venue, no one checked me in, no one checked my recording gear, no one even tore my ticket! That's amazing! Almost all the shows I've been to in Chicago over the past couple years, I've practically been strip-searched and anally probed! So going to the Morris was pleasant. I set up my recording gear and a lady from the venue came up and said "what is that?". I explained the recording policy and added that it was under the condition the venue was cool with it. She replied "oh, I was just wondering". I mean it was so laid back compared to what I was used to. - The other thing that blew me away was how respectful the crowd was. I'm used to ROWDY obnoxious drunk people who barely listen. I have no problem with this of course. But the people at the Morris were LISTENING. Every solo got massive applause. Even lines that Gregg sang especially passionately got applause. People sat down, you could even hear people who didn't know the song, listening to the words of "Old Before My Time" and responding. It was beautiful. - The sound was also amazing. It's the only time I sat out of the center section at a venue and every single instrument and note was perfectly mixed. They have great sound people right now. In fact this is the first show that I've taped where I thought the sound was better live! And of course the band played a great show. I guess it would be close to impossible for them not to play a great show right now. - Strange side note. I left there thinking "wow, this really reminds me of where the band was headed in 1971, the songs, the sound, the whole feel". Yet when we picked up our car from the parking lot, the attendant asked "How was the show?". I responded by stating "It was excellent. Of course, they always are!". The attended replied, "I had a couple people who left early saying it was the Allmans they remember". It made me think, were these people Mike Lawler fans or something? I can't remember the last time (before recently) the band really made me feel like Duane was guiding them...
