Its been about three weeks that my ipod has been on the blink and its driving me crazy. There was never a day some sort of music was coming from my car or home. We went on vacation the other week and went all week without my usual dose of the note.

I have been to the Apple discussion site and there are some crazy solutions over there, mostly folks with questions that no one can answer except for throw it in the FRIDGE. Now, how in the hell did someone figure that one out...

But my problem with the ipod is hearing static while the music is playing. Sometimes no sound at all. Sometimes its on the left side. I reset it, did a restore, came in this morning and still no sound. So I put IT IN THE FRIDGE................................worked good as new for about 5 minutes. Then the static sounds came back and on both sides instead of one side.

Any help from anyone????

I have the black video 80g Ipod.

I MISS MY MUSIC!!!!!!

Whatever you do, DON'T TRY THE TOASTER!

A friend of mine found a place where he sent his after it had ... really effed up. The folks at the Apple Store told him it was DOA, but he sent it to this place and they completely restored it - playlists and library intact. If you want, I'll ask him for the name and address.

Sounds weird. Did you try different headphones? Usually that type of problem is a bad wire in the headphones ......

It almost sounds more like a problem with the actual connection instead of the hardrive.

Ha! Yeah, don't through it in the toaster or the bathtub.

It was making the sounds in my speaker set up too. Then I checked with the headphones and the sound is still there. I do not hear any static off the library when I play off my computer. Its just off the ipod itself.

I need Music!!!! LOL

I bet there is something wrong with the jack on your iPod or with the wiring. I guess you'll need to take it in.

If you remember when we played albums and you had a scratch on it, when it starts its a sound like that, then slowly gets where its all static, but can hear the music in the background.

Gonna start burning some CD's.................so I get through the weekend.

Use one of the cans of air that is used to clean your keyboard. Spray the input at the bottom for about 15 to 20 secs

After you try that, put the Ipod in a paper bag, wave it around your head, and scream like a chicken...............

I put it in the fridge and worked find for 5 minutes.

I got kind of flustered with it and left it on the dresser at home over the weekend. I have to pick up a can of air today and give it a shot tonight when I get home....

After taking a stack of CD's home and played on the DVD player with the TV. I think I will be in the market for a new system. No good bass sound at all on my theater system. Very unhappy with the sound on that system. Movies sound pretty decent, but CD's on the other hand sound pretty bad in my book.

Gotta pry my big Klipsch speakers back from my son, if there is a way.....LOL

Thanks Eric, will try the air tonight. Then maybe dab some alcohol on the connectors.

I wish I had the 7500.00 pair. But mine listed for 1200.00 a piece a couple years back. They sound pretty nice. I loaned them to my son when we got the new theater system, which IMHO, sounds pretty crappy.

I like the site, thanks Eric, I will be checkin it out.

I think I may be leaning towards a tube amp or a good solid state amp, something simple. I may add a amped subwoofer to it too. But you start looking at all this stuff, and all the bells and whistles start going off.............LOL

I am open to all suggestions on equipment. Gonna land a turntable as well. I am not interested in trying to break the bank. Maybe some sort of analog system, still peakin.
