For some reason the when I linked the Best of ODR thread in the archives it wouldn't go to it.

Here are a few of the gems

#1 in the installment. From CliffnTinas' "How many third graders are on this forum"

I never got to go to school......

my father made me stay home and help harvest the buds....

then I had to shake stems and seeds......12 hours a day!

then I was always on restriction for keeping samples......

What little I was taught...came from a Parrot that my mom had....thats why I 'm real bad about saying the same thing over and over and over and over.......

Yes- I may qualify as a 3rd grader............for sure 2nd.

I remember the first time I heard "In the Court of the Crimson King"....

We were at Ricky Nichols house....rolling up a bunch of doobs for the Led Zeppelin at Atlanta Stadium concert.......his folks were out of town. Everyone was drinking Golden Grain...I had never got drunk on it before. Well he put on King Crimson and I was like wow...who in the hell is this....I loved it.....still do !

Thats also the night that I got so drunk..that when I tried to call my girlfriend at midnight I called my Mom by mistake.......here is how that went :

Mom - "Hello" (kind of sleepy...it was midnight)

Kenny - "Hey Baby....I'm F*cked up as hell on Golden Grain"

Mom - "WHO is this....Kenny is that you ? "

Kenny - "Yeah..who is this ? "

Mom - "It's you G.Damn. Mother..what in the hell are you doing drunk....your under age....you get your ass home right this minute young man (young man meant trouble..always).

Kenny - "Huh"

Mom - "No wait...you can't drive...your drunk...well you just wait unti you get home...your going to pay for this"

Well....Zep was the next day...so I went home the day after...lost my car for a week.

Now we laugh about it.......

The King Crimson part would not be as good...without the story behind it....

I love telling the old stories...as you all may tell by now.

One of my favorites. From Bebes' "spelling on messages" thread

first bebes post

I have been an Allman Brothers fan for 28 years. I am also a native Georgian and very proud to be a southerner, but i lived in California. So i experienced first hand the misconceptions that people had about the South. They were amazed I had all my teeth and my parents were,nt related. So for the sake of all thats Southern. In the name of Skydog try to not to look so illiterate

Now Kennys reply. This is classic.

Hay thar,

Think uyo fer yur cuncern...bit we tri reel harde to presint arselves n a intellligint way...Nuthin wrung wit marring yer 1st cusin..me preacher say so.

X

I want to be Evil (OldDirt stomping his foot in a childish manner)

I will bring my Glenn Danzig records

And I will wear a Red Devil Costume...

And we will feast on Barbecued Chihuahua and Goldfish stew.

and watch the un-rated version of Rosemary's Baby........

Now can I Play too ?

Or am I going to have to roll around on the floor and hold my breath like Opie Taylor did ?

I will

From the
"If you had to ask Derek Trucks one question" thread

ODR's response:
"Do you need a 49 year old unexperienced roadie ? "

Who needs Shakespeare with ODR around?

I was kidding about the Tribute Page and he gets one anyway. Some people have all the luck.

Kenny is the greatest, and he knows more about music than most everyone else on this site.

People who have the ability to tell a story that can bring a belly laugh are true gifts. Kenny is one of those folks. The drunk call to mom is PRICELESS!

Love Kenny!!! He has provided me with so many well-needed smiles (and more than a few glasses of ice tea spit all over my keyboard ) in his posts. ODR Rocks!

More kind words I don't deserve, but Thanks anyway !

I look at those old post and some I have made on the Glenn Hughes site and remember how I used to laugh so much and feel so good. Sometimes I feel like that old Kenny has gone and has been replaced by a grouchy ornery old Dude.

I don't put those funny stories out there like I used to, those last few years of emotional issues have taken their toll.

I can think of so many people her that deserve a tribute thread much more than me...I'd like to name them all...but the list would be way to long.

Thanks for making this grumpy old man feel so good today.

I love you folks.....i'd be lying if I said I did not have tears in my eyes.
