Where are ya Effie?

I finally got around to purchase the long-awaited re-release of Dennis Wilson's " Pacific Ocean Blue"

Wow, talk about a trip down memory lane
I had this as a youngster, but I haven't heard this album in at least 28-30 years
Simply amazing music here!!
Dennis is/ was a very underrated artist, IMHO.
Guess having a genious for a brother will do that

Dennis's voice sounds fantastic, and there is also some teriffic songwriting as well. Most songs take on a "dark" tone, but that was Dennis

They did a nice job with the packaging of this as well.
A nice booklet, but the best is a second disc of demo's that was supposed to become Dennis' 2nd solo album, but he passed away in 1983 before that came to be

Here is some more info and clips for those that havent heard this forgotten classic

Pacific Ocean Blue

WOW.. one of the few..
By the time I knew it was out, it was impossible to get.

BTW.. they are going to BIG bucks on Ebay now.

They did a great remastering job with this one also

yeah i remember when all of those BB brother records cd's were going for small fortunes. once the re-issues hit the market they came back down to earth real quick.

I have the first cd issue of POB from 1991, a lovely heartfelt album which everyone should buy now. I also just ordered the reissue from amazon and like Chuck I would jump over a lot of people to get to Carl's album

Actually BOTH Carl Wilson's albums are really good. I have a CD-R of them somewhere. (I'd found all the tracks from both albums on the old original Napster a number of years ago and burnt them onto a single disc). Just moved last month so the collection is still kind of in disarray.

A "desert island" disc for me. Words can't describe how great POB is. All I can say is if you haven't heard this you need to...

I havent checked recently, but I would imagine the price of the 91 re-release has plummeted

Well, if you ever feel like trading! I love Carl Wilson's voice. One of my all time favorite vocalists.

POB is excellent, I'm still waiting for my reissue to ship to me.
