So how is your life ?

Are you the laid back sort of person ?

or

Are you always on the run and it's seems like it will never end ?

Do you work a stressful job ?

I'm always on the run, but I want to be laid back.

I'm on leave right now to take care of my Aunt. But my job at the Courier Co is very hectic and stressful.

Thinking of finding a less stressful job in the future...I hope.

BUSY
Kinda - mentally. anyhow
Yes
Yes

Hoping to retire from the current job in the next 3-4 years. May look for something part time but it will definitely not be the type of stressed out work I currently do.

I kind of do a juggling act these days. My Mom is 90 living with me now. I also have 2 teenage sons here who are a tremendous help with Mom. My oldest starts college in 6 weeks. Some weeks feel like a rollercoaster.

I can't catch up right now - completely swamped at work, father is 80 in poor health and needs more every day, 4 kids, one nasty ex wife who won't let up and causes some new aggravation daily and just bought a house and trying like hell to do a kitchen and LR renovation. Just finished coaching baseball, so that will free up some time, but I'm sure something will fill it, hopefully female!!

running and gunning ,,, that's what we live for the the a/c business. Currently I'm short handed and the only guy I have will leave for National Guard training to deploy the Iraq this Friday. Good help is hard to find , especially here in this town.

mentally i'm very laid back...i'm pretty mellow & just roll with things as they come usually...
but, my lifestyle doesn't always jive with my personality so i seem to be on the run a lot of the time & hectic moments occur much more than i'd prefer....
my job is ok enough i guess, but i'm sincerely enjoying the much needed (2 weeks) time off i'm using at the moment!

Every time I think I am in a stressful job, I pretend it's 1920 and I am in a big factory, working 12 hour days and making 100 pound steel parts all day, no air conditioning and a mean alcoholic, wife beating boss...... then I think of my job......

and it still sucks.....................

I'm always on the move.
Can't slow down to smell the roses.
Gotta get there. Enjoy the ride? Hell ...

I find sometimes I am unable to relax. That comes from being constantly
berated when i was younger. My mother would go off about the whole
laziness, godliness b.s. and heaven forbid you were watching TV when there
were walls to wash or specs of dust on the tv screen. Sigh.

I'm not there yet, but I have been mentally and physically preparing myself
to enroll in some yoga classes.

Either that or have my first heart attack by age 45 ...

that sucks lonomon... ironically my foster mom was like that...i swear we were the only kids in town who hated weekends & summers cuz 90% of that time we were cleaning & doing various (often tedious) chores inside & outdoors that really didn't need such attention so much....not that it was all bad cuz there were lots of good times too....but i always have made sure to not take life so seriously as an adult & to not have my kids dreading opening their eyes in the morning. i could care less if a bed is made each day or if something doesn't get done right away...as long as everything is picked up & in pretty good shape, i can deal with it!

Lets stay away from that heart attack.

the watching TV when there was chores to be done reminds me of the years I lived with my Grandma.

She would come in your room early Saturday morn...say "Time to get up"..start pulling the covers off the bed and then add "It's time to clean this house up, everyone's gonna help. Don't even think of turning on those cartoons on yet."

I drive about 115 miles to get to and from work each day, plus an additional 20-30 more during the day as I work my territory. Some days my skin crawls from the stress of always, always, always rushing from here to there and back again. Traffic is insane with the commute and the cost of gas is making it almost not worth the trip.

My father died at 30 from a massive heart attack. As I approach 50 I feel that I'm tempting fate daily.

I wish and hope each day that my children, both in college, find themselves in careers that don't suck the life out of them - and that they are able to enjoy each day without that dreadful feeling that tomorrow will only be the same as yesterday.

Have running like the wind for most of my life - now slowing down a bit. A lot of things that used to seem important have become less important. I feel more focused now. My job is pretty stressful, but I'm able to leave it at work where it belongs most of the time. Smelling the roses....

ME TOO !!!!!!!!!!

Damn, looks like many of us have a stressful job and/or have other stressful things going on in their lives. Sign of the times? I really hate my job at the moment. I sometimes feel i'm stuck in some absurd Monty Python sketch but without the humor. Fortunally my vacation is coming up. 2 more days at work and then 2 1/2 weeks off. Most of which i'll be spending in Spain. Just about time. I really need a break. Even more then in previous years.
