A friend sent me this story. It is from a Sydney Australia newspaper.

Woman tries to buy beer after crashing car into shop

July 2, 2008 - 5:51AM

A 74-year-old wowan ploughed her car through the front window of a convenience store and then tried to buy a six-pack of beer, police and the owner say.

Lynne Rice drove her 1988 Cadillac into Joe's Food Mart and Video, Los Angeles County sheriff's Lieutenant Jenny Ha said.

The car ploughed about halfway through the store but nobody was injured.

Rice got out of the car, walked over to the cooler and pulled out a six-pack of Budweiser beer, said the store owner, who gave only his last name, Awada, to the Long Beach Press-Telegram.

"I don't know how she managed to walk," Awada said, adding a cashier declined the sale and instead called police.

Rice was taken to a hospital for examination because she had a pre-existing medical condition, Ha said.

She was also arrested for investigation of misdemeanour driving under the influence and released on $US15,000 ($15,700) bail, authorities said.

Rice could not be reached for comment.

Awada said the crash destroyed two two-metre-wide glass panels. Damage was put at about $US8,000.

She must have thought it was one of those drive-through markets.

LMAO.....Should I have given him a quote in the title of the thread? Don King is an "Only In America" story if there ever was one.
