Never even heard of that Hendrix title before -- I sure like your other choice though!!

Most of my favorite instrumentals are by Dickey - Jessica would probably take the cake for me.

My favorite Hendrix tune is a different instrumental of his, his cover of Born Under a Bad Sign, from "Blues."

Originally on The Rainbow Bridge movie soundtrack album.
Not a great movie, but some great concert footage of Jimi.

I don't listen to it that much but just for the greatest rock and roll instrumental in terms of impact, fame and over all defining moment:

Hendrix's Star Spangled Banner at Woodstock.

Two thumbs up for Maggot Brain...

I'm gonna offer two fairly well known and one that isn't:

Fairly well known :

Eric Johnson -Cliffs of Dover

Joe Satriani- Always With Me, Always with You

Not so well known but should be:

Paul Kossoff-Time Away

Now that you've mentioned Pali Gap I can't get it out of my mind! That is a great choice. Les Brer would be another one for me.

agreed. have you heard the full version on the 2-cd kossoff "back street crawler" reissue? just an incredible piece of interplay between koss' lead guitar and john martyn's rhythm.

I like SRV's Little Wing a lot but I'm gonna hafta go with Rude Mood>Hideaway>Rude Mood from Stevie... and Lenny!

Peter Green's Albatross from early Fleetwood Mac - great vibrato
Bron-Yr-Aur i like a lot too
Steppin Out is great, what i think of when I think les paul + overdriven tubes
Albert Collins on Frosty is nice telecaster work, interesting tuning
Lonnie Mack's Memphis, a favorite of duane's you gotta respect
which brings me to Little Martha.
and last but certainly not least ...
Roy Buchanan's Sweet Dreams http://youtube.com/watch?v=yOptDDU3rOo
