Soldier Field, Chicago, IL (Sunday 7/9/95)

Touch of Grey
Little Red Rooster
Lazy River
Masterpiece*
Childhood's End
Cumberland Blues
Promised Land

Shakedown Street
Samson & Delilah
So Many Roads
Samba in the Rain
Corrina ->
Drums ->
Space ->
Unbroken Chain
Sugar Magnolia

E: Black Muddy River
Box of Rain

* Weir on acoustic
*(The Band opened)*

I have a pretty good aud. recording of this show somewhere - I am going to look for it right now and crank it up. So Many Roads is excellent. Cumberland Blues as well. Still love the Dead and miss seeing them on stage. Luckily, I got to see them lots of times, dosed sometimes and completely sober others. Either way, Jerry's guitar felt like its sound moved right through me at times. Some recordings still do that as well.
thanks for the reminder.

OOPS!

Wow, only 13 years, does seem like a lot longer, perhaps because we miss the band so much. Those days and nights...
I'm glad i took that trip from Buffalo , NY down to Pittsburgh @ Three Rivers Stadium to catch the last tour. First time was Devore college, Chula Vista CA Sept. of 85.
Many thanks to the Band for 10 years of FUN.
Listening to the Last show now coutesy the internet archive "Lazy River Road"
Peace to All. Bill's immediate and extended family.
Todd.

13 years is both a short time and a long time. I never sought out the show, mostly because I've never been sure I could make it through it.

I was a chipman for Herr's and was in a grocery store waiting to get checked in and for some reason I put a quarter in this bubble gum type machine and out came this Grateful Dead lick em tatoo. Afterwards I got home and heard Jerry had died.

I believe there are good versions of So Many Roads and Black Muddy River from the final show. Very fitting for the last show.

Anyone recall the ad that Maxell put out in music biz magazines after Jerry died ? If some tell's me how to post a pic in a thread, I'll post it. I happen to have a jpg. of it at work.

"Such a long long time to be gone,
And a short time to be there"
The last lines of the last song- how awfully appropriate.

I still miss him. I guess I always will.
