Date for Merriweather is confirmed. I can only assume this will be the case with the rest of the southeast dates (ATL as well??). Link below:

YIKES, more great news!
Does anyone know if there is, or will be, a pre-sale?

No Phil for the Atlanta shows, he's playing w/ the Crowes here on 10-5. I think JPFudd said he heard a radio spot saying Phil would co-bill in B'ham. Merriweather presale is on now.

I got mine via the ABB presale, didn't realize there was a Phil one too.

For whatever it's worth, I think row A is 5th row, first 4 rows are AAA thru DDD....

The Chastain shows are definitely "An Evening With." The show at the Horseshoe Casino in Tunica will probably be one as well. The gig in Arkansas is a Bikes, Blues and BBQ festival, so that is probably not Phil's demographic I'd be surprised if he plays there.

Otherwise, I'd imagine that most of the rest of these SE gigs are with Phil

I know the Dead-haters, and Deadhead-haters, won't be happy, and I'm genuinely sorry. However, after the Ratdog tour last year, I'm firmly convinced that there is nothing better on this Earth than a good excuse for Peach-heads and Deadheads to congregate.

Anyone remember the Beach to Peach tour with the ABB and Phil in 2001? Good times!

And if a VA date is still to be scheduled, then that must mean that it will be in Va. Beach, since they probably won't play Nissan if they're already playing Merriweather and Phil is playing C'ville tomorrow night. Maybe they'll hit Ntelos instead of Va. Beach. That would be such a sweet show.

Only a Grateful Dead fan could get excited about a Bass player jamming with a different band in today's music world...

I wonder if they will be alternating opening/closing slots as they did in 2001, or whether instead the ABB will headline given that P&F isn't quite as popular as they were back when Jimmy and Warren were in the "Quintet" in the early 2000s. And I don't mean that as any sort of criticism of Phil or his Friends, but I think in the early-2000s that lineup was one of the major draws each summer. Doesn't seem as much the case in the past couple or three years.

Based on the wording, i.e. "P & F with the ABB", it sounds like the Brothers will open to me. But that's just a guess

Wow, that is great news for all who can see this double bill...imagine the personnel sitting in. I always wanted to see how Larry Campbell would fit with Warren and Derek, maybe you lucky folks will get a chance to see it.

oh please here folks.

stop all this nonsense about Deadheads they have feelings too.

I am one of them........well sort of.......I used to be > how is that?

.....but perhaps there is humor in the line about "only a Deadhead would get excited etc etc "............funny and true.

I think seing both bands is perhaps a compromise but what a treat? I'd go with the treat.

You don't think Phil is as popular? I think he still is. He"s still playing- isn't he?
