I hate to be so far off the ABB topic here (doesn't Gregg play tennis?), but the Federer v Nadal final was the most amazing sporting event I have ever seen.

Good call.
Fantastic. Too bad somebody had to "lose".
Much humility and class in victory and defeat.
NBA & NFL should take note.

Great match, both played like champions. No losers in that one. A joy to watch.

I have to admit, I don't like the hype that surrounds sports most of the time. But, this match was truly in the "epic" category. Finally, Nadal defeats federer on grass, and did so in a marathon see-saw rain-delayed battle that ended just as darkness was about to have the officials call the match for the day. Nadal had him in the 4th, yet federer came back and was emotional to boot. I thought Nadal was done for in the 5th, but he pulled it out. With the Euro Cup win just last week, the country of Spain is on a roll.

Yep, a sensational match -- the two top players in the world, both playing at the top of their game -- Roger had a few more unforced errors today than usual, but it just shows he's human
Didn't think much could ever top the Agassi-James Blake match from 2004 or 05, but this one sure did!! Absolutely killer match

I am the biggest Federer fan out there, but at 6-6 in set 5, I honestly stopped caring who won. John McEnroe did a fantastic job at calling it. Watching him tear up during the final interview was yet another show of class during this match.

only match i can think of that comes close to this one was US open quarters in i think 96 or 97 when pete sampras threw up in the middle of a fifth set tiebreaker and came back to defeat alex correjta, a very solid spanish player who was playing well at the time.

this was the best though. by a considerable margin. the setting, the circumstances, the personalities...and most importantly the quality of tennis. there are many tightly contested matches where both players tire and their play falters, not these two titans. improbable shots coming from all corners of the court.

i don't know if anyone saw the look on federer's face after the match amidst all of the fanfare surrounding nadal and his triumph, but that was the look of a man who is not folding. he will be back.

i look forward to several more years of great matches between these two amazing players and exemplary gentleman.
