Tell me about it. Some people don't like Merriweather, but I've always dug it. Nissan just downright sucks. It's a terrible thing to say, 'cause I've seen some great shows there over the years, but it's just a terrible venue. Even my friends that live up in that area and go to shows hate it. Terrible traffic/parking logistics, uptight security, mediocre acoustics, and WAY overprices food and drink (even by amphitheater standards). I might be hitting the Merriweather show, depending what day they play in VA.

I'm the person who post here that probably lives closest to Nissan, and while I do appreciate the convience of living less than 5 miles from there, it's not my favorite venue. Merriweather is good venue, but with a weekday show (Tues) and getting around the Beltway to Columbia during "rush hour" might not be fun, but nevertheless I'll probably be at the show. Now if the Va date is in Charlottesville, I would be more inclined to go that show, especially if they have it at their amphitheater. Next to the the Filene Center at Wolf Trap (which I would love to see ABB play), it's my favorite outdoor venue.

This is good news! I always loved seeing The Allmans at Merriweather Post. I was bumed out the past few years not being able to see them there. Great venue!

Back to the scene of the crime. Saw my first ABB show, as well as many of my very first concerts when I was in high school about 15 years ago, at Merriweather.
I scored some beautiful seats in the presale and I must say I'm looking forward to the Merriweather show over all of the other shows I'm seeing this summer. I don't want to wish the next two months away, but MAN am I looking forward to 9/30!

Darcie & I are going now. My early birthday present. And we're bringing two newbies. Any pre-show gatherings? Probably not on a Tuesday. But we will be staying in a hotel nearby. Any suggestions? We are only an hour up the road but figured it would be more fun this way. Can't wait to see y'all there~!

I don't know the area that well....so was thinking earlier today that we might just be able to get together in the parking lot.

i'll probably be leaving from work in DC....thinking about at least taking my tie off before I get there!

...and take some Dramamine!

And Brian....I'll be leaving work early with a bit of a more tie dyed look than I'd normally have on my commute!
