They just love to be the news at NBC. I am not minimalizing Tim Russert, they are just driving on and on with it. I guess NBC just can't stop being the story, instead of reporting it. Russert was a good news man, but he wasn't the Pope. The exploitation of the whole thing just kinda makes me sick.

But then again, don't you think that he should receive at least as much coverage as Anna Nicole Smith got?

What Otie said - don't watch it if it upsets you so. Russert was a collegue to the NBC news team. I'm sure that they are grieving in their own ways and also trying to pay homage to a man they all liked, admired, and respected. I've only seen some stuff on Today show this am but I thought it was a nice tribute.

I have not been watching it because they stopped reporting the news on Friday. It has been 4 days now. Let it go and go back to reporting the News. NBC just loves it when THEY are the story. Tim was loved by many on both sides of the fence and had few if any enemies. He was a good news man, we get it. He passed 4 days ago, it has now gotten to the point of exploitation, thats all I am saying.

Except the other networks are also still talking about Russert today. I know CNN had a mention or two today, and ABC World News Tonight did a whole medical story on what killed Russert. Hannity was talking about him this afternoon on the radio. And it's still at the top of the headlines at CNN.com. I actually didn't watch NBC today, but keep in mind that today is the first full news-cycle day since he died. I imagine things will quiet down a bit, even at NBC, after today.

Hell, I stil haven't gotten over George Harrison's death or Ronal Regan's for that matter , so let NBC wallow a little longer.

If they pick the wrong replacement the show will be history.

This is coming from a guy who uses a screen name that honors someone who died in 1995.

Otie hits one out of the park.

I can't figure out which of these two posts is funnier.
