Tiger has the greatest mental game of any athlete in any sport, ever, period. I am in awe. When the final version of Tiger's legend is written, this will be a very special chapter.

I used to think Michael Jordan would hold the "Mr. Clutch" title for a good long time, but it took less than a decade for Tiger to take the trophy away from MJ.

Even Jordan couldn't have won the top championship in his sport if he was in the kind of pain that Tiger obviously was during this US Open. Sure, golf is less physical than running up and down a basketball court, but it still physical, and I doubt most of us could walk the course with a knee like Tiger's, much less drive the ball 300 yards.

"We walk not on our legs, but on our will."--Ancient Sufi proverb

CNBC just announced ratings were up 50% over last year.

Couldn't help but think of the first flag-to-flag Daytona 500 while watching this weekend.
First prime-time golf worked nicely. Could be a watershed weekend for the whole sport.

I couldn't root for or against any of them. Would have been much different if Woods was playing against a player like Sergio but Rocco is just too fun to watch and too classy of a guy to root against. Best we could have asked for was for it to play out just as it did.
That Tiger guy is pretty good.

Saturday, Sunday and Monday...Three of the greatest days of golf I have ever watched. I was rooting for Tiger and Rocco on Monday. Two class acts.

I've been told that volume fell off noticeably at the NYSE during the playoff. This one is destined for a place in history, like Gibson's home run or the Miracle on Ice. The whole country was caught up in it. I didn't want either one to lose.

i have to respectfully disagree Rob..having watched Jordan for many years, I can assure you that he playe in pain a lot more than Tiger has ever had to..

82 games plus the playoffs every year ?

that being said, Tiger is , in my opinion, more dominant than Jordan

I heard a report on TV where Reggie Jackson was comparing Tiger to Koufax, as to willing himself to perform through pain. I bet the truly great ones do it far more than we realize.

Golf injuries???? Are you **** ing serious? Compare this to a hockey or football injury and it is quite easy to see that golf is a very easy sport to handle physically. And don't give me any of that bull **** about wrist and ankle injuries or arthritis. He used his strong upper body and it pretty much negated the weak knee (that and Alleve).

Agreed, ask Willis Reed about playing on a "weak" knee
