Nothing posted on MSNBC yet. I sure hope this is false.

OMG! Another example of how fleeting life can be. He wasn't very old. I've really enjoyed his work on the news and was touched by his book that paid homage to his father then the follow-up which contained reader responses and stories. Rest peacefully Tim.

Bummer. He was really good. Best at what he did. Tom Brokaw was just on, he was on the verge of tears.

Sadly it's true. His office is right down the street from mine. We were wondering what all the buzz was there earlier...sure didn't think this.

I got the chills hearing he passed on the radio. He was a great American who truely loved all things politics. He will be sorely missed.

Politics aside I always enjoyed listening to and watching Tim Russert. He'd get that big smile and his eyes would gleam. He had a warmth about him. Great loss to his family and to political observers. Rest in Peace Tim Russert.

Boy, he's gonna be missed. I watched Meet the Press as often as I could mostly for his personality.

The tributes pouring in on CNN and FNC are quite moving. Pres. Bush, Bill & Hillary, Obama, McCain, Paul Begala, James Carville, David Gergen, Ted Koppel, etc. Wolf Blitzer is repeatedly catching himself from present participle to past tense ("have known" to "knew"). Very sad indeed. Sunday mornings and the entire fall election season will be quite different and will take time to get used to.

What a shame. A skilled, fair-minded newsman with a pleasant demeanor. We don't need less of these.
