I know its expensive as hell, but its goin to be a hell of a weekend. I love this "rule" the most, NO MORE THAN 3 CASES OF BEER PER PERSON. That should be ok, liquor is allowed too . If anyone is still thinking about it, check out the website or just look at these bands who are performing, and the schedule makes it possible to see everyone.

Mule- play right before PhilLesh, last night, goin to jam.
Soulstew- enough said.
Widespread Panic (2 Sets!)- does Warren/Derek jam with them?
Phil Lesh & Friends- Last set of festival, Warren's bound to jam w/them.
Mickey Hart Band w/Steve Kimock- wanted to see Kimock for a while.
Dave Matthews Band
John Mayer
Medeski Martin Wood
Taj Mahal
Zappa Plays Zappa
Primus
Trey Anastasio
Drive-By Truckers
Keller Williams
The Disco Biscuits
Mike Gordon
311
and yes, Snoop Dogg. Im young, so he will actually be pretty fun, or funny? Either way we'll all be stoned.

Hopefully I can meet up with some of the good folk on this site that I learn from and enjoy reading always, and have a great time on the 4th of July!!!

I don't know but who ever does is going to have a real good time. I think this one has the best line up of all the festivals this summer.

Originally turned off by the headliners, my second wind for the Fest was all about the tremendously deep 'everybody else'. I will be seriously considering it next year.

I really wish I could. It is a cool place to vacation, nice waterpark and horseback riding. Just don't forget to bring your earplugs if you stay in the cabin type rooms that are all connected. The walls are REALLY thin. You might be alright if you pass out though.

Rothbury is in Michigan.

Great lineup, not going to make it this year, but good for them for putting on a great fest.

If we go, do we have to do that dance where you jerk your head to the side?

I'm with you, Angela - this fest has the best line-up of any other festival I've seen advertised this year. Wish I could go...

I don't think the festival is what made them lose the ranch. They owed a lot of money on the land/ranch and the bank is calling the loan because of the success of the festival, on some level. They (the owners) were not terribly solvent prior to the festival. The bank is trying to capitalize on the money generated. Hopefully they can resolve and reproducing some similar magic. Everyone I know who attend were blown away. There is NO WAY the weather could have worked out better. Mild for that time of year. 70's during the day, 60s at night with little humidity.

I'd love to go. Not sure my wife would let me leave the lake over the 4th though. Hopefully it's a different weekend next summer!

Leave "The Lake" ! ? Dude, I spent many a formative year there in Upstate Michigan - primarily around Sage Lake and I must say, you gotta' pass a hundred lakes to get to any lake in the state right? !

So, I guess what I'm finding amusing is this. I had a difficult time adjusting to North Carolina living in the early '80's because whenever ANYONE said they were going to "The Beach"....I thought that meant they were going to the coastline somewhere. NO, if you are going to the beach, you are going to MYRTLE F'n Beach...if you are going anywhere else you MUST use a series of descriptive adjectives or a proper town/area name BEFORE saying the word BEACH.

Now I got to ask....WHAT lake is "The Lake" (Michigan?) or does it just mean no lake and yet everylake in particular?

Anyway, you ought to try the day parking if/when this thing returns to Rothbury...that way you can take advantage of "The Lake" and still see the shows you like in the evenings. Hell, I was up in Traverse City for the Air Show the afternoon of the forth and back in the 'Bury by sundown. Sure beats the shlt out of chilling in a drug induced coma in the parking lot for 4 days !
