I wanted to mention a Simpsons funny that I just saw.

It is the episode where food becomes scarce due to a bag-boy strike. The Simpsons' dog leads them to Homer's old lunchbox in the attic. The lunchbox contains an old box of Animal Crackers. They find a "golden giraffe" which indicates a contest winner for a safari in Africa (although the contest is 30-something years old).

On the African safari, the guide takes the Simpsons family to visit an African tribe. In the evening, the tribe conducts a ritual with music and fire-dancing (which Bart and Lisa seem to enjoy).

While dancing to the drums, Marge looks to Homer and says, "This song has been going on for hours."

Homer then says, "You're right....it's like the Allman Brothers!"

I've been a loyal Simpson fanatic since 1990, I still am, when many others are not anymore.

Anyway, when that episode was new, it was so overly thrilling that the ABB got a mention, I almost wet myself.

I love the newer episodes as much as the older ones, the first few seasons look prehistoric now.

I saw the one where Bart got the Boa snake the other day. The part where Homer was choking Bart and the snake was joking Homer cracked me up.

Bart named the snake "Strangles"

also the one where Homer had the Lobster named Pinchy was hilarious

I have been watching them since 1989. When the first episode appeared on Fox.

An absolute classic show that never gets old.

Homer is the greatest animated character EVER....next to Peter Griffin, of course. I bet they'd be great friends if their parallel animated universes collided.

Another great line from the safari episode is when the safari guide says goodnight to the family in their cabin.

"Sleep tight....don't let the bed bugs paralyze."

I was in stiches after that one.

Peter Griffin rules....so does Stan Smith (American Dad)

I believe there was also an episode where the beginning "simpsons theme" was replaced by ABB's Jessica. Was a few years ago I think.

I've been a fan since the very start when they were 15 second shorts on Tracy Ullman.
I STILL run red lights to make sure I'm sitting in front of the tube at 8.00!
At first Bart was my favorite, but Homer is been my favorite for a long time. All men wrapped up in one character.
I remember the ABB mention when it first aired also.
Are there any American Dad fans here. Stan. The conservative's conservative.

I stoped watching the Simpsons a few years back for some odd reason because I never stoped loving the show. I'm gonna have to start catching up on some of the shows I have missed. Maybe I'll rent the recent movie first. How was that movie??? Any reviews?

The movie was fantastic, as you might imagine. It looks absolutely beautiful in Blu-Ray. The second best I have seen, next to Ratatouille.

I believe in that same episode, they find a "Jane Goodall" character in the jungle exploiting monkeys to find diamonds for her in her mines and Homer says something along the lines of "she's hiding diamonds everywhere!...even on the soles of her shoes!!!" as the catch her in the act.....those writers are cool no doubt.

OK, does any remember Matt Groening's "life in Hell" cartoon that used to run in in most college newspapers?

I bought the "big book of Hell" at Border's about a year ago for $4.99. It's awesome as it shows a sneak peek of Bart Simpson around 1985.

Akbar and Jeff were very gay and very funny.

My favourite "sight joke" ever was the show where Springfield got nuked and Homer survived because he just happened to be trying out a nuclear shelter. So he's driving through town and the only people left alive are Johnny and Edgar Winter doing their load out.

Bart: Here we go. Kwyjibo. [places his tiles] K-W-Y-J-I-B-O.
Twenty-two points, plus triple-word-score, plus fifty points
for using all my letters. Game's over. I'm outta here. [gets up]
Homer: [grabs Bart with his left hand, holding a banana in his right]
Wait a minute, you little cheater!
You're not going anywhere until you tell me what a kwyjibo is.
Bart: Kwyjibo. Uh... a big, dumb, balding North American ape. With no chin.
Marge: And a short temper.
Homer: I'll show you a big, dumb, balding ape! [leaps for Bart]
Bart: [making his escape] Uh oh. Kwyjibo on the loose!

One of my faves...
