I don't think there are because I've checked out a lot of them. But just thought I would check here.

I don't think it has been played since 2001. They did do a version at the Beacon in 2001 with Chuck Leavell. Instant Lives started after that

I still love the High Falls from 3-20-98 with Jackie Pearson on guitar.

Fair question. Count me amongst those that believe a song written with Chuck Leavell's creative genius in mind, as part of that piece of music, is best played with a piano.

I agree, but I ALWAYS love Jack Pearson on it. However, to me, the best non-keyboard version is from 6/20/00. An incredibly fantastic version by all the musicians on it.

And no, there is no IL with "High Falls" that is confirmed as hotlantatim has stated, it has not been played since 01.

You are all correct

The Instant Lives started in 2003, and High Falls has not been played since then.

The next time Chuck sits in, somebody should mention it

I know Dickey's band has since released two versions, one on The Egg from 2005, which is a little more crisp than Peakin's version, but still not quite as full as the Allmans did it - still very decent, but it looks like the album is out of print. The Official Bootleg (http://stores.musictoday.com/store/product.asp?band_id=1466&dept_id=11 191&pf_id=9DCD03&sfid=15) also features it, which I have yet to hear, but everyone seems pretty high on the whole album.

It's one of my favorite songs, too, but give me some electric piano or hammond organ over straight piano on it any day. Chuck's electric piano definitely helps define it, but much like a Chuck-less, Warren & Dickey "Jessica", I'll still take a Jack Pearson-era "High Falls" any day over none. Those "High Falls" are among the best.

I can't wait to hear some Jack pearson era high falls. Those will be arriving in the mail shortly. I wish the live at the eggs cd was still in print, I'd buy it if it was. And, the official bootleg version is awesome.

It's also one of the highlights of the "Peakin' At The Beacon" album.

Okay, let me rephrase: I agree with you. The song is at its best when played with Chuck on keyboards, and it seems to cater completely to his playing, but it would be nice to hear it with Jack as the guitar player playing along with Chuck, because I love Jack's playing on it as well.

Would anyone happen to have a copy of 6-29-97 they would be willing to B&P? The Dreams, Highfalls, Liz Reed, Blue Sky from that show are killer. I had a copy of it on tape but lost it during a move Jack owns this tune!!!
