this thread pretty much sums up the high level of frustration w/ the Tale of Two Cities mess...

Thanks, I thought that was the case. I was worried I may have missed it.

AS mentioned before i received my fixed copy (in Europe) more than a month ago. Still i think it's ridicilous that most people are still waiting on their replacement copy. Also lack of proper communication. Since next month the "Benefit Concert Volume VIII" DVD is released with plenty of Warren Haynes / Gov't Mule content i think they should first solve the issues with their previous dvd release. Even if it's from a different production company / label. Would be the right thing to do. I wonder if the frustration about the "Tail .." release will badly influence sales figures of the new DVD.

It will not sway my decision to purchase the next DVD.

I haven't, nor will I buy any Gov't Mule merchendise until I recieve the replacement discs. It is gonna be hard because Mountain Jam is this weekend and I usually buy a poster, shirt and Muletracks from the shows. Guess I'll have to wait this year and order them from Mule.net after they finally fix this mess. That is my own little way to protest the way we have been treated. A little more communication would have gone a long way. Once the problem is fixed, I'll be back to buying everything Mule.

Just got this from a Mule email:

TAIL OF TWO CITIES DVD UPDATE

We know a while has passed since any update has come regarding the repressing of the Tail of Two Cities DVD. Some legal issues have gotten in the way that are, thankfully, almost resolved. We promise you that, as soon as humanly possible, those of you who pre-ordered will have your replacement discs in hand, and the DVD will be back in stores. Once again we apologize for the inconvenience and we look forward to this being behind us.

I agree 100% - regardless of legal issues, which are more than likely with their production house and responsibility on sign-offs etc, the problem is that fans how spent their money for a product still do not have a good product. Very disappointing and frustrating.

I still haven't gotten mine. I'm not that upset about it. I think I'm a little more disappointed with the Holy Haunted House release to be honest. I guess I'm happy that they're working on the Tale of 2 Cities. While it sucks it was bad to begin with, I haven't given up on it. I assume everything is just taking way longer than excpected.

I got the email today too. Also ordered the Benefit DVD. I was at that show. It was an awesome show too. Especially when Warren came out and played with Dave Matthews. They started with a couple slow notes and slammed in to Cortez the Killer. Other members of the Mule had sneaked out on stage. You didnt know the Mule was starting their set. You just thought it was another slow acoustic from DM. It really woke the crowd up after a sleepy set from DM. The sun was coming up when we got back to the motel.............Every Christmas Jam I have been to has been very memorable, leaving you wanting more. This past year was my 7th in a row. This year I believe its going to the Civic Center for two nights. Save up!!!
