Down 11-8 in the 4th period, score the next four goals.

Listened to it on the radio while I delivered mulch, saw some of the first half on my lunch break.

Lacrosse is a great game, it needs more exposure.

I went to Hopkins, saw a lot of good games and a lot of good players- those were the days of Bob Scott- great coach. You would see people at the games that you never saw all year. I believe Hopkins was a division three school in all sports but lacrosse... despite it's small student body, they always managed to recruit great players and complete with schools several times their size.

Where is the final this year?

In the NE Patriots' stadium.

Guess they out grew Baltimore.

Effn' stadium had a huge crowd today.

Syracuse was down 5-3, came back to lead 6-5 at half-time.

Now up 13-9 with 3 minutes left.

Were it not for the Hopkins goalie, this would be a blowout.

Hopkins had 14 saves in the first half, SU goalie had 2.

National Champs for the tenth time.

8 of the last 10 championship games have had either Syracuse or Hopkins involved.

SU beat every team that beat them last year, including Virginia.

UVa had a five game win streak against SU going into Saturday's game.

Hamilton College, in Clinton, NY.

Colgate College is in Hamilton.

Go figure.

Played many times at both rinks.

Have coached my Lysander teams at the Clinton arena the last three years.

My family is from Clinton. Two of my Great Uncles went to Hamilton. They also played hockey for the Clinton Comets. My Grandmother took me to walk the Root Glen every summer. I love it there. My step-sister is the Dean of Admissions at Hamilton College.

Cuse played great today! Go Orange!! Football is next. Yikes.

The Syracuse University men's lacrosse team beat Johns Hopkins University, 13-10, Monday afternoon to claim its tenth NCAA Division I championship title. The team, which had been shut out of the tournament in 2007, became the second team in NCAA history to come back and win the tournament the next year. The only other team to accomplish this feat was the 1983 Orange team, which was honored during Monday's halftime festivities.

Dan Hardy led the Orange with three goals. Brendan Loftus, Kenny Nims, and Stephen Keogh each had two goals, while Danny Brennan scored his first career goal. Mike Leveille, Steven Brooks, and Pat Perritt also contributed a goal apiece to the winning effort. Syracuse goalie, John Galloway, stopped seven shots for the Orange.

Paul Rabil led Johns Hopkins with a career-high six goals.

A record crowd of 48,970 fans was on hand to watch the game, which marked SU's first national championship since 2004.

Check SUathletics.com for a complete recap of the game and watch for reports from The Post-Standard's Donna Ditota and Dave Rahme on the Orange Lacrosse home page. The AP also has a story on Syracuse's victory.

Great game, indeed! Good to see the Orange back on track after last years disappointing season. I live near Watertown and it's great to see the Frontier League represented so well with the three players from Watertown. Strange to not hear of any Carthage High school alum on the Cuse squad....

While my high school didn't have Lacrosse, I had the opportunity to play a little in college. What a great game! It's nice to see they had over 48,000 in the crowd yesterday.

My son's former linemate played hockey for Hamilton this year. Tough acedemics and a cold winter - we're from sunny and warm Colorado. lax NCAA's in Denver in 2010?
Small world Hamilton College and ABB.......

All three of the traditional lacrosse hotbed areas were represented by a championship team.

Division I - Syracuse - Upstate New York

Division II - NYIT - Long Island

Division III - Salisbury University - Maryland

And the runners up were last year's winners.

Le Moyne is in Syracuse, and Cortland is 30 miles south.

Also note that Sid Smith, a juco transfer to SU is from the Big Six Nation.

Speaking of Lemoyne College, one of the members of my gang heading to Mountain Jam this weekend is a proud alumni of Lemoyne. His younger sister graduated two weekends ago from Lemoyne as well. This will be his first Mountain Jam and I believe first Mule show. I'm sure we'll be talking all kinds of lacrosse on the way to Hunter. Incidentally, I earned my Associates degree at Herkimer County Community College (H triple C as it's sometimes referred to) which has won several Junior College National Lacrosse Championships. It's the place where many Lax players go before transferring to 4 year lacrosse powerhouses. Usually because their grades out of high school aren't quite what they need to be. Sadly, the Herkimer program has lost some of its luster since long time coach Paul Werham retired.....
