OK, I love Queen, I have alot of their discs and must say back in my formative years, they opened up a whole lot of avenues of where rock could go...they also un-arguably have some of the most recognizable stadium rock anthems.

We all know Freddy Mercury was ... well a queen.

So, it begs the question...does anyone know if in fact their band name was related to the fact that their lead singer was gay?

I think it was a nod to the UK monarch. They were from the UK right?

I thought up the name Queen. It's just a name, but it's very regal obviously, and it sounds splendid, It's a strong name, very universal and immediate. It had a lot of visual potential and was open to all sorts of interpretations. ”

I saw Queen when I was a kid in a Broadway theater .. In fact they may have opened for Mott the Hoople. Freddie took the stage and had us all spellbound. Talk about someone with stage presence. It was an unforgettable night

I think I read somewhere he builds his own guitars.

Brian did and kind of a remakable pickup set up if I'm understanding correctly.
Each pickup is wired so each string is fed into their own amplifier.
I checked out a Brain May Vox several months back. It has a volume knob...thats it if I remember correctly.
Rated at 30 watts class A, it was the loudest SOB I ever plugged into.
I got it up between 11 and 12 o'clock.
The guys at the music store said one morning before they opened for the day they got it up to about 2 o'clock before everyone in the store ( all guitar players) were screaming to turn it down.

A true space cadet. The dude is a brainiac, not unlike the lead singer for Iron Maiden.

Freddie Mercury? Wasn't he that queer-coloured ass-grabbing dildo-receiving panzy ass who died of AIDS? I say good riddance to him. The world is much better off without all these fags, especially those who are off white.
Look at what they are doing in Africa, dying like flies.

Doom shall rise.

On a similiar note, Phil Alvin, the lead singer for The Blasters has a doctrate or is close to finishing his doctrate in Mathmatics

Not bad for a rockabilly singer...

You will be the one burning in hell along with that stupid picture in you're posts and that totally crappy band you always post about. You are the ultimate troll and I hope you get kicked off for this hate filled post of yours.

You are a totally tasteless person, lacking any compassion. Please do yourself a favor and search for truth and light. You won't believe how good it feels to actually have some humanity.
