ditto. People, there are bigger things to worry about than a DVD. Some of these comments surprise and disapoint me.

I had a problem with Hard Head Management once before, I won a contest that included two tickets and backstage passes for a show of my choice. I spoke with them at least three times about the details. So I drive 2.5 hours to the show to find out no one has been informed about the tickets and passes for the show and being Saturday the hard head people were unreachable. Luckily this guy TJ who I think was the bands stage manager got word and hooked us up. So I'm not suprised by the response.

Peace

i would think the Mule,if they are aware of the problems, would not be pleased by hardheads refusal to communicate & refusal to respond to numerous emails--so,as it pertains to the dvd they are behaving rudely & unprofessionally--not the biggest deal since we can,in all honesty, wait for the dvd--but,lack of transparent communication is a bit much to accept...& for those who live check to check, the $$ is a concern for them & a lack of real communication adds to people's frustrations.i truly hope they remedy this situation shortly.

not for nothing, but all of this complaining about hardhead as a separate entity from Govt Mule is sort of confusing; I thought Warren Haynes' wife was Hardhead Management. So if Warren's wife is Hardhead, well, isn't he sort of hardhead, too, and wouldn't in all likelihood he be fully aware of this situation???? Does anyone on this site work for Govt Mule who could explain it?

I have not received a response to my email asking about the DVD. However, I watched the defective one (not a huge problem on my discs btw) and basically, they could not have found two more less interesting shows to film. I have seen them about 20 times and I thought the DVD fell short of their live shows.

My guess is they will make the fans happy, though, and I am not worried about it, just amused by the Hardhead complaints since Warren IS Hardhead, by mairriage.

I've been e-mailing info@hardhead.com and DVD@hardhead.com everyday for a week now with no response. I'm gonna keep it up until somethiung happens. I would suggest that eveyone else do the same.

daof2, I do not know this for a fact -- doesn't someone who posts on this website work for the band? can you clarify? -- but I am 99% sure. This in no way means that the wife and/or Warren are personally responsible, but you get the drift here. It was probably delegated or outsourced.
My feeling is that they will make good on the product and we will all be happy. As I said, my original discs were basically fine, I just thought the two shows were somewhat pedestrian and wouldn't watch it again, so I am not chomping at the bit for the replacements. But I have no doubt that they will send out a good product.

I can understand anyone's frustration but you have to keep in mind that this is a band that offered up tons of free soundboards to the fans originally plus they have always and still do allow recording and trading. They now offer very good quality SBDs of every show for sale and and really good at getting them up quickly.

After everything that I have gotten for free of Govt Mule and various related shows, I can't really complain about a DVD. But I am sure it will all be resolved as some people have already been taken care of.

Really now. Do you really think they are selling these shows for their beloved fans' enjoyment? They are making a TON of money from Muletracks.

I mailed them a letter to the office in NY about the dvds.
addressed to
Stef Scamardo @ Hardhead Mgt.
P.O . Box 651
Ny,NY

I don't expect a response, but that is how ridiculous this situation has become.
I sent a copy of my receipt i got when i preordered and I asked why i can't receive a refund?.
I don't think a refund is to much to ask for at this point.
This is the most unprofessionally i've been treated on any transaction in my life.

So how is my statement false? I said that they offer them for sale and have them up for download within a couple of days. Not sure how you define a ton of money but they are making some coin and deserve to. It is what they do for a living. And they still allow people to record and trade. They also offered up SBD recordings for years freely. I won't complain about guys who gave me so much free music, allow recording and have decent ticket prices.

Look, their ticket prices are "decent" because if they charged too much more, people wouldn't go to the shows. If they could charge more, THEY WOULD.
How is the taping/trading thing such a huge gift?? These traded recordings have done as much a service to the band as the fans. Many probably were turned on to the band
through these recordings. Its not
as if it
costs the band anything to have fans record their shows. While the tapers usually do a tremendous job of recording, the sound quality of an audience recording is not often a "sellable" product.

Say whatever you want, but the band's mgmt is dropping the ball BIGTIME. It seems Mrs. Haynes' head may be firmly implanted in her own rear-end and it seems to be pisssing off many longtime fans who spend big bucks on all of the BS presale stuff. I used to order all of the presale stuff, but no more. Its becoming an obvious waste. WTF is going on with Heardhead Mgmt.??

Actually the demand for Govt Mule tickets has increased but the tickets have stayed inline. The size of the venues they play has steadily increased. Could they charge hundreds per show? No but the same could be said about an endless number of bands.

How is trading a gift? Well I have a couple of hundred Mule shows or more and they are mostly soundboard recordings that the band themselves leaked out. Did it cost them anything? Perhaps future live releases but in the end it worked for both the band and the fans. Also because of the venue sizes, the tapers at Mule shows get excellent results which makes for some really awesome traded shows.

People here seem to all of the sudden think Warren is evil. Anyone who has met this man will tell you the opposite. He is a great guy and really doesn't deserve to be trashed.

Was there a DVD screw up? Yes. Could it have been handled better? Yes. Will it make me forget all the other stuff that they have done so well? No. Did the band allow some other shows they filmed to be leaked and traded? Yes. At what cost? $0. Sounds fair to me.

Hope everybody's situation gets corrected as it seems some peoples' have.

As for Andy leaving or not, with all due respect to Andy - he is no Woody anyway. Nice guy who does a good job but is usually fairly low in the mix which has altered the power behind the Mule and made Matt a little laid back in my opinion. There are many competent players out there to fill in.

Bring George Porter back. He is the only one that I believe brought the skill and thump the way Woody did. Pedro would be good too.
