To All:

Although most of you probably do not know me, I’m really reaching out here. My name is Tom Rein aka buhda2, and I have been a member of Hittin the web almost since its beginning. A couple of years back, I started a very small business Dogonit Productions, to get involved with the photography, art, and memorabilia of the artists and bands that most of the members here know and love. At the same time, I decided to give back to the community that I live in by becoming a teacher at the local public school system to help prepare students for “real life”. Since then it has taken up most of my time, as kids will do, and my small business has had to wait for a while. Well, “real life” just hit us hard.

Earlier this week, a tornado ripped through our town of Suffolk, Virginia devastating the community, causing over $20 million in damage, destroying over 200 homes and businesses, displacing hundreds of residents , and creating pain and suffering for every single resident of this small, but close community in Southeastern Virginia (www.pilotonline.com). Although I was able to return to a very damaged home last evening, and feel much better that with a lot of community support, hard work, and God’s love we will get it back together soon, our family and community has been hit really hard. Personally, I have lost almost my entire collection of artwork that I have put together over thirty years. Although a portion of my sales inventory was in a safe storage, professionally, I will probably never be able to get back what I had invested in the small business that I had been trying to build for the last couple of years while taking up teaching.

On June 8th, 2008 of next month the town of Driver, VA is holding a fund raiser for the businesses and residents of Suffolk, and the village of Driver (a part of Suffolk, where I live) to help start to rebuild our lives. My family and I are fine which is the most important thing, and I am not asking anything for myself, but want to do whatever I can to help out those in my community that have lost everything by setting up a booth at the fundraiser, and sell the inventory I can pull together from storage, with the proceeds going toward the Suffolk Foundation "Tornado Relief Fund", 1426 Holland Road, Suffolk, VA 23434. If you are able to contribute anything at all to this fund, or are willing to donate something of your own that I might be able to auction / sell at this event to support this fund it would be greatly appreciated.

Again, most of you probably don’t know or remember me, but i have tired my best to help out many of you when you have had personal challenges over the last couple of years without asking for anything in return. I have also been a fan, supporter, and advocate of independent music here in Southeastern Virginia for years. I am very reputable, and if you check with almost any of the JHawkers they will tell you that I am very honest. If you are able to donate anything directly to the Suffolk Foundation, "Tornado Relief Effort" it would be greatly appreciated by all of us here in Suffolk, VA.

If you are willing to donate any of your art or memorabilia to be auctioned off / sold during the fund raiser it would also be greatly appreciated. All items can be sent to Dogonit Productions, 119 Suffolk Meadows Blvd. Suffolk, Virginia 23435. Continuing fundraisers will be held, so if you still want to contribute something after June 8th it will all still go to the Suffolk Foundation.

You can check out the devastation for yourself at www.pilotonline.com or www.hamptonroads.com.

Thank you so much for any support that you can provide us with.

Best of Life,

Tom Rein aka buhda2

Thoughts and prayers going out to you, Tom, to your family and community as you rebuild your lives. (I sent your information over to the Prayer Circle in the new site, also)
