Each day I see new ABB shows put up on the board. As I am still rather new into listening to the ABB I want to get myself one show that the REAL fans consider to be the best Live show
So tell me which live show vine should I be getting on so I can get what fans consider to be a definitive or classic live ABB show

Start with "Live At The Fillmore". From there you will want it all!

All of the shows from the Fox run a few years back - not a dawg in that bunch;
The entire Beacon run from 2006 - all of 'em!

9-16-1971 Capt. Skipper remaster is incredible. Probably a better performance than Fillmore (though it's an AUD recording)

The recording Live at the Fillmore East is by far my favorite....the band at it's peak with the original lineup! The Duane and Dickey guitar team are a guitar players dream....

The very best ABB show that I have heard is Archival #2. It's the official Stonybrook 9/19/71 release. Every single song is incredible. Get. My desert island disc.

I'd say the question was about a traded live show, not a commercial release or archive release.

With that, I'd say the 9.16.71 is great.
I also like 8.14.94 - later in the day at Great Woods (although the earlier in the day Woodstock is okay.)
I've also always liked 5.3.96...a great True Gravity, and lots from 2000, and on and on....

Still, the single greatest night of music I have ever witnessed!! The most perfect Allman Brothers Band show I have had the pleasure of attending.

Are you talking about the Saturday or Sunday show? I was at the Saturday show. They played Blue Sky and blew my mind! That was my first ABB show in 25 years.

3.21.05
3.13.06 LAFE anniversary show
personally partial to 3.19.04 for the 1st WDLGTBSS>Franklin's and other high points

Most Beacon shows have performance and/or guest highlights

The Beacon DVD is s good start. They ramped it up a notch the next few years.

Agree with the Fox Box. Best of the IL's for sure.

I don't know about Saturday, but that Sunday show I was at, absolutely rocked. Sat next to a guy taping it and I should have gotten his info so I could get a copy. Probably the best show I've seen live, heard the whole weekend was spectacular.

I second this show for that reason. I love the St Stephen tease. The audience goes berserk and that made it wonderful.

Hey Jim!

How about 6.25.91 (London UK) as a near perfect mix of the "big hitters" and a band pushing an excellent pair of "comeback" albums? Cracking performance also.......but you knew that already!

The Saturday show with Blue Sky. Besides Blue Sky being so amazing, I loved the Les Bres intro->Don't Want You No More->It's Not My Cross To Bear

I recorded the 9/24 and 9/25 shows and got great recordings. I think I will reoffer these in the trades section. I have not done a series of B&P's for quite awhile.

Hey Dave.
How many nights did September 25th fall on for that year?

Wanee Festival 4-13-07 is WAY off the hook; Wanee 4-14-07 is also very good. Both are available for $25 at hittinthenote.com. Oh yeah..........also try the N.O. Jazz Festival, 5-5-07, $22, same website. Any of these three are INCREDIBLE shows, but my personal favorite would be 4-13-07, mostly because they do just an UNREAL version of "Les Brers in A Minor", an instrumental from Eat a Peach which the band very rarely performs. All three of these shows are good all the way through, and although you're paying good money for them, remember this: All three are taken right off the soundboard. And the Wanee shows were actually produced by the Allman Brothers Band.

As all the posts above confirm, Allman Brothers shows are like Lay's potato chips- you can have just one.
