Nice. Thanks for the pictures. I heard some good things about yesterday. Warren with Levon on "Chest Fever"....nice!

Lot's of guests with Mule, I see. I still wonder why Derek never sits in with them.

Have fun y'all, and try and dodge the rain. Up here in Augusta, and praying to the gods that the rain stays away. Today should be a wild one. Wish I could be in two places at once.

They did Low Spark of High Heeled Boys with Randall on sax. It was unbelievable. One of the many moments where I became disoriented with excitement.

They also did Cortez the Killer as the encore and Since I've Been Loving you early on...to make it one fantastic night for covers. The setlist was solid all around. I don't know names of Mule's songs, but I recognized most of them. It was one of the better Mule shows I've ever seen. Definitely the best so far at Wanee. The full set time gave them some serious room to open up and they did. Larry McCray sat in on It Hurts Me Too and another blues song. I'm sorry I missed his set because of Mule, but it was great to see him then. He is a great player and definitely kept pace with Warren.

Levon was FANTASTIC. The Band is one of my all time favorite bands...so seeing Levon was a dream come true. He only played a few band songs, but the set overall was great. His band was really solid and they had some great songs. I take it some were off Dirt Farmer and I think I'll be buying it when I get home. They had the full horns and then a large variety of insturments. They did a blugrass esque set with Levon on madolin, the guitar player with a violin, occasional accordian, and this lady with a great voice on acoustic guitar. I really loved the show.

Throughout the day there was a lot of good music, but today is what I'm really excited for. Randall Bramblett was great. I had never heard him before, so that was really enjoyable. The only problem I found is the music, throughout the day, seemed too loud. Louder than it was last year. Mofro was good, but I enjoyed it more from the cabin where it wasn't so loud. I really like those guys. He sat in on harmonica on Smokestack Lightning with the Mule too. Papa Mali was also really good.

The weather has been great, though a little warm coming from VA. The crowd is a little more docile than last year. Not as many crazy people...even though I think Moe. and Ratdog may bring them out later. I'm looking foward to seeing those guys, but their fans don't really appeal to me. Helen's Hilton is doing well too. Its always nice to stop by and see such friendly happy people. The jams Thursday night at RRC were unbelievable. Some great stuff going on. Possibly the best of the night, for me, was Tony Tyler hitting all the big licks from YDLM off Fillmore East. The chance of rain is even down for today. I can't wait to see a bunch of bands today. Hope everyone is doing well!

Thanks so much for the pictures! My heart skipped a beat as I saw the mushroom stage. What a beautiful setting. I miss it and you guys so much!! Keep those pictures coming!

Nice to see Randall sitting in with the Mule! I got a call last night from Tony Tyler. He was on Cloud 9 having just seen Levon Helm, one of his heroes.

The photos are bittersweet, but please keep them coming!! Y'all have fun and enjoy the great music and good vibes with family.

From the pictures, it looks like Larry Campbell on guitar, and I believe that is Levon's daughter singing with the band.

Actually, the lady with the blond hair is Theresa Anderson. She is an excellent singer and a nice acoustic guitar player (who also happens to be married to Larry Campbell). There was a second woman also with a terrific voice whose name I did not catch. I wished she could have sang a little more. The Helm set was far too acoustic and slow groove oriented for me, but it was a set of beautiful music nonetheless. Perhaps if Jimmy Vivino was there it would have rocked so much more.

I thought the singer introduced with Levon was Teresa Williams.
